I would love for Bush, Cheney, and others to quietly be escorted to prison but only if the proceedings are in no way tied to Obama. But... since that's IMPOSSIBLE, I think we should just move on. I believe Bush's justice will be delivered by the universe, even if he is not legally charged with anything.

2. Impeachment is a tool for removing sitting Presidents, as they are immune to criminal prosecution.

Not so for ex-Presidents (absent one of those preemptive pardons like Nixon got). Since Bush is almost out anyway, don't bother with impeachment, but do let the new AG determine if a solid case can be built.

to restore MY pride he needs to be publicly humiliated. I know this sounds silly to most people but as long as he lives it will not be too late to punish him for how he helped rape the environment and the future. In an ideal world, it could be a good idea if we can have a nonpartisan court decide, but we have to deal with reality. Half the American public voted for this guy in 2004, and even more people don't want their ex presidents thrown in jail. An impeachment would deplete all the political capital the democrats have, which means no universal healthcare, a bad economy, and a bankrupted government. Lets get our priorities in order

First, impeachment is a civil trial. It cannot result in a prison sentence.

Second, the charges that Vince Bugliosi details extremely well in his newest book, which could result in a prison sentence, can be made by any state or county prosecutor. It would be in no way connected to President Obama.

Presidential abuse of power and public tolerance of said abuse of power is almost as old as the United States of America. The only President that we've seriously considered prosecuting was Nixon and it wasn't because he illegally spied on his enemies or started a secret war in Cambodia.
