I feel like a sadist, but 4 years ago the entire world was in a state of hopelessness and dread thanks to them, and unlike them, we had a legit reason to feel that way. I hope they get the karma bitch-slap they deserve from this. Any good stories or pictures of the Republican/fundie reaction to Obama winning?

5. Have at it
I've watched some Fox news and I would describe their reaction as scared. On one of its shows "The Beltway Boys," they were saying Obama will have to hold back and be a centrist because most of the country is centrist. They wish! They're hoping he doesn't do what he said he would.

is one of the things keeping me halfway sane right now after Prop 8.

I live in TN, and there are lots of people here who hate Democrats, but they take special pride in hating minority Dems.. so it makes Obama's win that much sweeter!

9. I Feel Pity For Them
Their brains are malfunctioning, and they are in a lot of pain. When the Obama Administration fixes what's wrong with government, and things get better for all, then maybe their mental anguish will abate--given therapy and drug support and remedial education.....or a few swift kicks in the most effective places....

11. karmic adjustments are the best teachers and we all need them on occasion
Edited on Sat Nov-08-08 09:07 PM by lunatica
Pain is the best teacher. Suffering begets sympathy and loss begets humanity and love. Would anyone not want them to feel more empathy and goodwill towards others?

Getting a certain amount of satisfaction at seeing the tormentors suffer what we know is just something in their overactive imaginations is perfectly human. It's not like we're celebrating that they're being waterboarded like Rush did, or that it was just some pranksters having fun in Abu Ghraib or that they're getting bombed in their homes or murdered by an invading country.

If that were happening we would all be up in arms. Relax, their misery won't last long.
They'll be back to their idiotic hatefest soon enough, over nothing truthful. Rush won't let them suffer long.

This beyond the GOP and their Philosophy of Self Interest...and they have paid the price of humiliation and Defeat....

Despite their rantings post election, there is no real change in the GOP other than lipstick color selection....

Its not wrong to enjoy an especially sweet victory in our long war against evil. This war ain't over. And the despair of our enemies works to our favor. So we should enjoy it - and hope for more of it.

If they were so stupid to vote for McCain/Palin,after the disastrous 8 years we have had with Bush, then the hell with it. I have found that a lot of neocons vote for one issue alone.Whether it be guns, religion, abortion, money, taxes etc. The Dems seem to have more than one issue on why they vote for Dems. The one track minded voter really scares me. They never seem to see the big picture. Y'all may think differently, but that is what I see around here in this mostly ignorant red state. I'm so sick of their condescending attitudes, that they need to wallow in despair for awhile. After Obama is POTUS for awhile, maybe some of them will agree that the best choice was made.

This is only a temporary setback. They have nearly the entire media at their disposal for distorting progressive intentions while touting their own. Just wait until you hear their attacks on Obama. It will be a 24/7 effort, just like when Clinton was in office.

33. The contrast between the worldwide reaction and that of the wingnuts here is striking.
Edited on Sun Nov-09-08 06:35 AM by mwb970
In every country in the world, there are wild celebrations. "America is back!" the people cheer, telling reporters that they can now look up to America once again the way they used to, that Obama's victory has already washed away the bitter taste left in the mouth by the vile bush administration. Americans are no longer harassed as bush accomplices when overseas - now we are cheered and stopped on the street for congratulations.

In America, 100,000 people gather in Grant Park to listen to and cheer on their exciting new president. The scene is repeated in dozens of cities as joyous "victory parties" are held. Everyone everywhere is happy!

Well, not everyone. Not everywhere. The wingnuts bitterly cling to their gods and their guns as they mutter darkly about the onset of "socialism". They discuss weapons and ammo at length. They speak of their need to leave the country before it turns Soviet. (Where do they think they will go? Now they are the ones who are unwelcome pariahs around the world!)

After what the wingnuts have said about us for lo these eight years, I think anything we want to say now is legitimate. So go for it! We're on top now.

34. My street instincts tell me to step on their necks right now and glory in their blood.
But to be honest, I don't want to gloat or be vindictive. I really don't think we have the luxury of smugness right now. We have inherited a terrible mess that is going to take a long time to clean up, we're going to need two terms. This economic crises is going to last for at least the first two years of President-elect Obama's term, we must NOT allow these fucks to blame us for it and take back seats in 2010. We really need to make sure our guys in office are doing the right thing and continue to grow our ground game. You can feel good that they feel bad but we have bigger fish to fry.

36. It is the job of those who lied to them for 8 years to make them feel better...
... by finally admitting that the bogey man picture of Obama they created is s straw man they need not be afraid of.

Limbaugh, Hannity, Plain, McCain, Oriel and Savage come out and say, "You don't need to be afraid of Obama. He's not a socialist. He's not a Muslim. He's not the Antichrist,. He's not going to take away your guns. He's not a terrorist. We lied to you. Relax. It will be okay."

That is THEIR job.

Until then, I have NO problem with trying to drive them off the cliff.

Let's some some Republican versions of Andrew Veal put a gun to their heads at Ground Zero, until the reich-wing that fueled their despair owns-up to THEIR responsibility for creating it.

Maybe after a few Republican-versions of Andrew Veal put guns to their heads and pull the triggers at Ground Zero, one of those who created that fear will finally speak-up.
