Almost told her to FUCK OFF! But i just ignored it...because she's miserable!

Exit polling also showed that Democrats who supported Sen. Hillary Clinton during the primaries overwhelming voted for Obama in the general election, 84 percent to 15 percent for McCain. <\b>

For the poll, more than 16,000 people who had just voted were selected at random to fill out questionnaires.

Many voters told the pollsters that they made up their minds early in the campaign season, with 61 percent saying they made up their minds before September, another 13 percent saying they decided in September and 17 percent saying they made their selection last month.

Only 7 percent of those polled decided whom to support within the last three days.

1. I would just smile and laugh. Not getting flustered just makes them more miserable.

2. Never had any doubt
I supported Clinton in the primaries and don't personally know anyone who switched to McCain when Obama was the clear winner.

4. It shows that PUMAs was nothing more than FICTION made up by disgruntled
Hillary supporters who wanted to use sexism as a wedge AND rabid Obama supporters who wanted to use PUMAs as an excuse to further denigrate the Clintons.

5. Just my opinion, but I think the 15% of Hillary supporters who voted for McCain
never were Democrats to start with. There were some Independents and Republicans who would have voted for Hillary just to see a woman President. They weren't voting gender, not party.

6. The EPA has declared PUMAs to be functionally extinct.
The sightings are now so rare that they see hear of more bigfoot sightings than PUMAs.

22. I checked out the Free Republic live election night thread. They were complaining about the PUMAs
not coming through. I think many of the PUMAs turned out not to be PUMAs when they saw what was at stake.

8. And I am convinced that many of those Hillary voters were McCain voters all along.
And they would have voted for McCain over Hillary also in the GE.

13. I agree with you. As a matter of fact the exit polls in PA & WV showed
exactly that. There were Repubs voting in open primaries, who actually told exit pollsters that they voted for Hillary, but planned to vote for McCain in the general. The PUMA's were hardcore Repubs, with a sprinkling of conservative Democrats, and a handful of women tossed into the mix; in other words....SORE LOSERS.

20. zactly
a big portion could be what you described. the question probably asked who they voted for in the primaries, not if they are a clinton democrat voting against Obama.

supporters, and they, without hesitation, moved into the Obama camp after the primaries were over. The PUMA "movement" was a myth, invented by the right, to sow discord and they failed. In addition, the PUMA myth inspired John McCain to select Sarah Palin, so the right's "operation chaos" backfired on them.

9. It's kind of fun when my mole reports back from over at Crapital Shill...
Ooooooooooh, those nutbars are upset and I love it!

But pretty much all of those remaining (the ones who went ballistic and ran off anyone who didn't lockstep support McCain/Palin) have become republicans, (including a certain western horse-show “dancer” and a girl from a corn-filled state) so it's more than okay—they've switched and now identify with freepers and should be considered as such.

Schadenfreude? Yeah, and I'm loving it! :)

11. Not according to them....
THey're claiming that they made a difference, and it was the GOP based not coming out for McCain that failed.

Delusional much?

Oh, and some are planning a "big" rally to support Philip Berg end of the month, while others are planning to try and sway the electoral college.

12. Haven't met a one
Our office was pretty much divided between Obama and Clinton. We're in NY and Clinton has always been good for the type of non-profit organization that we are, and a lot of us are middle-aged women. (Actually, a couple of us middle-aged white women were always for Obama and one of Hillary's biggest supporters among us was a man so I shouldn't pigeonhole like that.) There was difference of opinion but there was no rancor as far as I could tell. Nor was there ever any question that each of us would support our nominee, whichever one it was. By Election Day everyone had long gotten over any private disappointment they might have had over Hillary.

I don't take anything away from Obama either, but some of those Hillary diehards needed a little extra encouragement from their candidate.

24. Hillary deserves most of the credit here. Obama's campaign had alienated these women
Hillary brought them back. I hope Hillary gets something in return, like a Supreme Court appointment.

Edited on Sat Nov-08-08 01:24 PM by Wolfies Revenge
Of course McCain would get some Democrats to vote for him. There are many factors as to why.

But as far as PUMA vote? I doubt there were many outside of the shrieking menopausal cat ladies that infest a couple blogs.
