2. It's incomprehensible

I ask myself these things every day and can't come up with an answer. I'd like to know if anyone else has any ideas.

We know all this propaganda is going on. How can a person participate in it? Obviously they stay in denial and make excuses. I'd like to at least know what excuses they make to themselves.

One time I heard Gore refer fleetingly to the problem and inferred it was some kind of "post-modern" cynical attitude that they have, like nothing matters and they think it's all a big joke. But how can they not make the above connections, at least to their own self-interest and to the interest of people they love? I would like to hear more from Gore on the topic.

Some kind of ideological mind-set is short-circuiting their reason? If that is the case, I'd like to know what they want, what they think they would get from Bush getting four more years? How can they can convince themselves he's better and would keep the country safer, when the administration is nothing but a phony image, when in reality they have proven to be nothing but incompetent liars?
