If a few duers that want to watch it as part of their morning ritual just for the pure entertainment value, why do so many care?

I agree, it would be better if it was contained in one or two threads, but all topics started in the morning are clearly labeled regarding the topic, so don't open them.

Let a few duers have their guilty little pleasure in the morning without ridiculing them. Start a topic that interests you and let the others do the same. It's a big tent people.

The corporate media plays a powerful role in our cultural. That includes both positive and negatives. While no one is obligated to study the role of the media, or to try to influence it, I respect those who do.

The individual we know as "Mika Mouse" plays an interesting role on MSNBC. She appears to have secured her position as more of a result of family influence than talent. And the role of her family members, including her father's role in the Obama campaign and her brother's role in the McCain campaign, were frequent topics of conversation on the Mourning Joe Show.

Mika Mouse has, in the past month, served as a cheerleader for Sarah Palin. At the same time, she has served as a willing enabler of Joe Scarborough's active attempts to discredit President-elect Obama by spreading disinformation.

Recently, as those DUers (myself included) who post in the Mika Mouse threads know, we were able to play a role in an e-mail campaign that got quite a bit of attention on MSNBC. In fact, DUers who are active on the Mika Mouse threads helped make her the target of the show's largest volume of e-mails in the show's history.

More, other people who work at MSNBC read some DU threads and DUers e-mails. Our efforts to influence the media are a good thing. And while I respect everyone's right to not watch MSNBC or read the Mika Mouse threads, I think that those who do deserve equal respect.
