4. USA Today, CNN, and Gallup are all talking from the rightwing agenda....
...as are the rest of the captive mainstream media. By presenting polls with such obviously skewed numbers they are attempting to make Dems believe that all is lost so they might as well stay home on Election Day.

2. The best suggestion when it comes to polls
Is look at trend lines.

Since each poll uses different guidelines to measure the population, comparing two different polls is worthless. However, since each people will use the same guidelines for each poll they conduct, if you look at trend lines, you can see where people are moving.

So look and see what USA was saying a month ago and what they are saying now. Do the same for Gallup and then you got something.

Just my thoughts.

3. Isn't that Gallup poll you're referring to 2 months old?

Unless there is a new one I haven't heard of??

Either way, I don't see Kerry carrying NC.

6. Oh, he could carry NC. It just isn't worth spending too much time here.
Because if he DOES win NC, he will have already won 350+ EVs.

8. Exactly,
if a state like NC goes to Kerry, then we're looking at a landslide victory.

And I just don't see that happening.

10. The Kerry camp must have a different take because they are
running ads here like crazy. Also, Kerry has been here several times recently (once this past Tuesday) and Edwards has been here on campaign event 5 times.

Don't know what their own internal polling is showing, but they are conceding this state at all.

7. Gallup doesn't have experience doing state by state polling
and it shows by their wild numbers.

Their national polling sucks too but that's another story.

9. Believe me, I'm on the ground here in NC and I've travelled around
the state, and I have NEVER, EVER seen so many Democratic bumperstickers and yardsigns and plain ol' ENTHUSIASM for the Dem. Presidential ticket ever.

I stopped in a small town and ducked into a grocery store for some supplies (this town is rather conservative) and the first thing I see is a leaflet tacked up to the bullentin board with a picture of Smirk, and under it were the words boldly scrawled "Thief, Liar & Traitor." Then there was a web site given to visit (united underground alliance). No one had ripped it down.

On Interstate 40 outside of Greensboro, there are at least 2 businesses that front the interstate that have HUGE, HUGE Kerry/Edwards banners (billboard sized).

I took a wrong turn in the mountains of NC and ended up on a road I didn't need, so I looked to turn around--all of sudden there is a house with about 3 or 4 Kerry Edwards yardsigns. One on each side of their yard!

Not only this but I have hardly seen ANYthing for W. No yardsigns, no billboard sized banners, and hardly any of those stupid "W 04" stickers.

It's close here, and I think Gallup is full of sh*t.

15. That IS good news!
I lived in NC for 10 years. For people to be putting up stuff is amazing, and even more amazing is the anti-Bush stuff!

I was proud to help elect Edwards to the senate, and thrilled when he joined the ticket. He is one class act.

Thanks for the good news! I feel better already!

(time in NC:
4 yrs at Duke (including one internship in Waynesboro)
6 yrs in the piedmont (Ashboro, Greensboro, W/S)

(I'd love to find out what's happening in Randolph Co.!)

11. When's the Mason-Dixon polling out again.
Or Elon?

They are long-time state pollsters here in NC and are more reliable I think.

12. I'm glad the polls are all over the place..
.. let those gop bastards get complacent... Let them be left scratching their heads when Kerry wins in a landslide, powered by UNlikely voters! I live in a supposedly conservative area of Washington, and the Kerry stickers outnumber the Bush ones 20 to 1!!!
