I can barely get any work done today. my perl code is a mess, and I keep getting jazzed just saying "President Obama" over and over in my head!

2. That's exactly why I took the day off from work today.

Given what happened to me after Super Bowl 42, I was determined not to be that way again at work the next day (unable to sleep and feeling high as a kite from sheer joy - no alcohol involved, either).

9. I wish that were possible. But my job requires me to be here for many reasons.

1) I'm the entire IT department for a small business of commodities traders.
2) If the markets are open, we are open
3) They are all Republicans who just got handed a major defeat, me taking the day off to enjoy it would really piss them off, jeopardizing, at the very least my professional relationships at my job, and at worst well... you get the idea.

It ain't fair, but it is what it is. Life goes on.

They pay well, checks don't bounce and I'm given unlimited professional autonomy. Health care is fare, and the end of the year bonuses are good.

4. I'm glad I took my vacation this week.

There is no way in hell I'd have been able to focus on work. I'm holed up in the house with the tv on (I never turn it on before 5pm) and am burning up the internet (and DU) trying to find all the pics and stories I can. What a fucking wonderful week it's been! And my daughter called from the celebration in downtown Seattle, in which she was very heavily involved because she knows how much this meant to me and my sis.

8. I've been in a semi-daze all day.

I finally figured out why (I'm slow, but I get there). I've fallen in love with my country again. I never stopped loving it, but I sure in the hell didn't like it much these past eight years. Last night it did something wonderful and I'm just all aglow.

And it'll be nice to say and write Mr. President again and with pride.
