My God, will the tears ever stop?
I haven't cried this much since my brother-in-law died last year. I don't mind it when they're happy tears, though. I won't mind having stop sign red eyes for days!

I'm even sobbing now watching the call from last night - I haven't seen it yet. OH GOD!!!!!!!!!

7. peeps have different ways....
of expressing their emotions...

and all have the right to express them in their fashion...
and that freedom of rights being upheld so strongly...

is probably part of the reason so many of us are crying today.

8. I have been strangely tear-free. I guess because we WON.

I cried a lot with the Gore and Kerry losses. And I am capable of shedding tears of joy, but for whatever reason I am just really feeling calm now. And quietly happy.

On edit: I think I might fall apart at inauguration time, lol.

9. me too...
I was shocked that i wasn't crying more last night. and awoke with this peace and calm that I haven't felt in many years (ever?) the feeling that I am not looking for the other shoe to drop. the feeling that we are gonna be okay, and that instead of being handed a teaspoon to dig out of my hole, I may actually get a stepstool...and others cheering me on...

we can do it, there IS alot of hard work ahead, but the inspiration is enough to make us try harder. THAT is what i am looking forward to!

10. Tearing here
maybe because when I met him with my Progressive group in 2004 and shook his hand, I knew he was special. A kind, feeling, strong person.

11. I haven't cried as this long or this hard in a long time…
When they announced Obama as the new president, I thought about all those who had gone before him -- their stories of the struggles they faced under slavery and Jim Crow. I was overwhelmed with joy! I'm still tearing up when I see pictures of him or hear him referred to as "president-elect".
