This was perhaps the most significant political event in many of our lives, or amongst the most significant. I am sure also that many of us invested much time and resources to do whatever large or small thing to enable this victory.
I was up until 4 AM, and barely squeaked in a few hours sleep. Today it feels like a different world - one more aligned, at last, with OUR values and hopes. But each of us will now feel a collapse of some sort - of relief, of recaptured time, just those unanticipated and unexpected feelings of aimlessness when we reorient ourselves to our lives, our mundane tasks that we allowed to lapse.
Do something fun, so something relaxing - or do nothing. Take pride in this event, let it burn into your memory and your significant others and your kids - so that it is indelible.
The battle is won, but not the war - and the war starts now and really gets going on January 20, when the hard work of putting this country back to order begins. I am sure there will be many ways for us to get involved with that as well....
Congratulations, all, and thanks for a wild ride leading to last night!
