Georgia and North Carolina are very similar states, demographically. Politically, they're also quite similar. In fact, I might argue that Atlanta makes Georgia slightly more liberal. The weather was good in both states today. Early voting in both states broke records.

Yet, now, it's 1:00 A.M. EST, and NC has not yet been called for either Presidential candidate because McCain and Obama are running neck and neck while GA was called hours ago with McCain winning handily, 55% to 44%. http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/results/individual/#mapPGA

And our Senate race was a dead heat yesterday. All polling indicated that we were headed for a run-off with neither major candidate getting over 50% of the vote. Chambliss was polling at 47% yesterday. Yet, today, this race gets called quite early with Chambliss winning 52% to 44%, according to CNN at this hour. http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/results/individual/#mapSGA

If you ask me, I would say another two Democratic candidates have been robbed, as have the people of this state as well as the people of the United States, by Diebold. I do not trust these results at all. They do not make any sense. Our Secretary of State and our voting machines must go!

I so wanted my home state to be on the right side of history in this historic election, but we have been denied that right, I believe, by people who loathe democracy and machines that can easily be programmed to subvert the will of the people.

Of course I almost cried as I cast my vote into the Diebold Fudge-o-Matic 2000 Voting Approximator this morning. I wished my ballot well. I told it I hoped it would count, and my hands shook as I let it go. Who knows what really happened after that. What else could I do?

ATLANTA -- Fulton and Gwinnett Counties failed to include any advance votes in their election totals by 11 p.m. Tuesday night.

Officials at the Secretary of States office confirmed to WSB-TV Channel 2 that the votes were not being included in early returns.

Up to two million votes may be going uncounted.

If they count those votes and add them to the totals, I will be a lot more confident in the result. In fact, those votes will very likely change the outcome, imho.

If you just look at race, they're very close. If you look at more pertinent data, Georgia is suffering less than NC.

17. It was a righteously pissy day today. I was a runner for our GOTV team and had to battle

rain on the roads and people tailgating me as I was trying to get my numbers back to the station and picking up food and dropping off food for our Houdinis and poll observers.

I was wet and miserable.
Umbrella use was futile.

19. Georgia and Alaska polling always overstates Democratic support

I've emphasized that on DU for 6 years. I have no idea why it isn't well known. It dates long before Diebold. It averages about 4% Many times I've mentioned my Partisan Adjustment Number (PAN) theory in specific states. The Georgia adjustment is the highest in the nation, 4.5 points toward the Republican.

The Georgia polling model obviously sucks. I'm not going to try to explain it. I win plenty of large bets by knowing it, including tonight. I had McCain at 1/2 odds to win Georgia, which was outright theft.

How can you say that your "PAN" pre-dates the Diebold machines that we got in 2002? Isn't it likely that your "PAN" is, instead, the direct result of the Diebold machines?

I've seen the long long lines all last week. I've talked to plenty of people who are completely fed up with Republican policies and a worsening economy. Not only that but GA lost 28,500 jobs in September alone. Something stinks.
