Our local right-leaning newspaper's exit poll in RED RED RED Lancaster County, PA, shows OBAMA ahead
If Barack Obama won, or even came close to winning, Lancaster County, PA ... well, get ready for the harmonic convergence, because that would be mind-blowing. This county is the reddest of the red in PA's "red T" ... the poll done every election day by the Lancaster New Era is usually pretty close to accurate. And Obama is leading. Holy moley!

http://articles.lancasteronline.com/local/4/229714

New Era interviews with nearly 200 early-morning voters in city, suburban and rural districts here found Democrat Barack Obama running ahead in this GOP-dominated county — a bad sign for Republican John McCain's chances of winning Pennsylvania.

Shit, I don't know why that's so funny, but it is!

And, "get ready for the Harmonic Convergence" line in the OP!

3. I know we've been told not to pay attention to exit polls like these, but HOLY SHIT!!
IF this turns out to be accurate, McCain is screwn in PA. :hi:

4. first post that has given me chills

Thanks so much gauguin57

LOVE this quote

"I thought the McCain campaign tried to evoke fear about Barack Obama," said Nicole Johnson, 25, a church secretary and Lancaster City resident. "I didn't want to vote for McCain out of fear."

The Republican responses were the same typical non-sense...socialism, war war, bla bla...

55% for Barack in THIS COUNTY? Not a bad sign at all.

10. This is one of the 25 counties Politico has focused on for tonight (see article)
"12) Lancaster County, Pa.: George Bush won 66 percent here in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country in 2004 while narrowly losing Pennsylvania. McCain will need to do at least as well here to help offset the massive margin Barack Obama will win in Philadelphia."

Her normally very conservative Christian, Republican family is going for Obama (she, along with her mom, dad, and sister voted for Obama, while her brother went McCain).

20. This was in the article

Eight New Era reporters conducted the interviews in 23 voting districts across Lancaster County, from the city and its suburbs to rural townships and outlying boroughs.

The survey, conducted in the first three hours of voting, is only a snapshot of early voting activity, but it has proven in past years to be a reliable indicator of voter preferences.

27. Yeah, I fell for that in 04 too.
And early voting almost always goes to Democrats.

I'm going to go drive some elderly to the polls now and check back in three hours.

21. WTF is an ad for Prop 8 doing on a Pennsylvania paper?
I don't get it. Does Focus on the Family have cash coming out their ass?

Sorry to rant off-topic. I hope that poll holds up.

If so, they're pulling your zip off your computer and feeding the ad to you. Happens to me all the time. I go to out of state sites and get ads targeted for my city.

Did you get the same ad I did? This is bizarre.

Disgusting that they're using Joe Biden, who never endorsed Prop 8, to promote it.
