McCain gets a break!!!! Let's ruin it!

Finally McCain Gets a Break

John McCain has had a run of bad luck this year ranging from little public interest in foreign policy to the Wall St. Meltdown just before the election. Finally, he is getting the ultimate gift a Republican could ask for: rain on election day. The forecast is rain and storm in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and North Carolina. Rain lowers turnout and low turnout always helps Republicans as the people most discouraged from standing in the rain for hours are low-income voters. Whether this will be enough to swing those states is another matter though. They could be close. But turnout is crucial to determining who wins.

IF YOU ARE IN A "RAIN" AREA, GO DRAG YOUR NEIGHBORS OUT, GO TO THE POLLS WITH UMBRELLAS, DO ANYTHING, DO NOT LET PEOPLE GIVE UP ON THE NEXT 4 YEARS BECAUSE OF A LITTLE WATER!!!!!

2. Oh, low income voters are the most discouraged. Sure! I'm sure some well to do person doesn't want
to get her new hair do or his new suit wet. Give me a break! People will not be discouraged from voting because of a little rain, not in this election.

3. I feel Obama voters are FAR more motivated so if anything
this is NOT a break for McCain, as his supporters are NOT as motivated.

poor obama supporters are not going to stop because of rain.

the already disgruntled elderly republicans and the bitter bigots... are the ones most likely to go home.

7. On the other hand ...
People who think their candidate is toast might look out the window, see rain and say to hell with it.

14. That's why I don't understand why some people won't vote early
You never know what factors will be in play on Election Day. People have stated that they feel their early votes won't be counted, but if you can't vote at all for some reason, guess what!

I know that not all states have early voting, but I will definitely use it from now on.

Too late to say this, I know.

16. In NJ, as in many other states, "early voting" used to be called
absentee ballots. And early voting in NJ is actually absentee ballots. There is a history of absentee ballots not being counted so many people don't trust them. There is also a history of absentee ballots being disallowed for various reasons. Greg Palast recommended that is you are going to vote absentee you MUST do it at the county clerk's office, or whatever office your election officials reside in, and cast your absentee ballot ON THE SPOT with the aid of the election official so that if there are any arcane rules involved you can be assured they will be addressed right on the spot.

17. Meanwhile, the weather is beautiful in Kentucky and Indiana, so...
maybe Obama wins Indiana and McConnell loses in Kentucky.
