Proud to be a democrat

I first bought Kennedy's inauguration speech record for my mom in 1961. Since then I have always supported democrats. I was proud when we signed the civil rights bill and gave away the south for 3 generations but it was the right thing to do. I was proud when we nominated the first women for VP because it was the right thing to do. In 2008 we nominated the first African American to be President not only because it was the right thing to do but he is the best man for the job.

The democrats do the right thing even when the risk is great. It was certainly a risk nominating and African American but as a party we do the right thing not the popular thing. I feel so proud for always being a democrat.
