OMG, Zogby is such an attention whore.
He blows one day of polling way out of proportion, then has the gall to come back the next day and say "one day does not a trend make"??? Um, dude, you were the one making a big deal out of it.

1. Zobgy is a major diva. Always needs headlines. Why else would anyone pay attention to him...
...if it weren't for his constantly changing numbers?

2. He wasn't making a huge deal out of it. Drudge was.

Drudge selectively makes a big deal out of McCain nights. It was probably the first time in awhile that Zogby had a McCain night, which is why he mentioned it. No big deal (though it did make for an interesting spook on Halloween).

4. Look at his statement from yesterday.
Pollster John Zogby: "Is McCain making a move? The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama today, 48% to 47%. He is beginning to cut into Obama's lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all. "Obama's lead among women declined, and it looks like it is occurring because McCain is solidifying the support of conservative women, which is something we saw last time McCain picked up in the polls. If McCain has a good day tomorrow, we will eliminate Obama's good day three days ago, and we could really see some tightening in this rolling average. But for now, hold on."

3. Well, to be fair to Zomby...
he was making a big deal about about McCain's "comeback" this morning on C-SPAN when he said "one day does not a trend make."

He did say that before this new poll result.

Still... Zomby was so wrong last time, I pay him no mind whatsoever.

and yeah, he is an attention whore. no doubt.

6. yes an attention whore..and more
His noisy poll has swung 10-15 points in the last two nights polling. He REQUIRES the full three day result to have any semblance of stability in his polls. He then singles out minor subgroups like Nascar fans in an already unstable sample and draws ridiculous conclusions from these statistically insignificant calls.

Gasbag.

That was many years ago, before he started turning tricks for the highest bidder. That push poll a few weeks ago was deplorable.

And how condescending is this guy? He has the nerve to release a shit poll and then chides people for saying it was a shit poll, LOL.

11. He's playing with their minds - I have 20 other polls to look at..
All the wingnuts have: a pollster who's all over the map - down 12, close 3.. down 7... "close" 5 ..etc..

12. Many diehards were quoting Zogby yesterday as if his numbers might be some turning point.
Even with all the other polls showing Obama up, Zogby's one day data was their last hope that maybe McCain might have one last gasp. Last night's data should end all that.

13. Polls are irrelevant.. MANY PEOPLE all over the place have VOTED
so every day the pool of poll-ables gets smaller, and of course the cell-phone only people have been out of the loop too..

Organizations HIRE pollsters..they just don't do it because they love to talk on the phone.. If a republican organization hires a pollster, it does not take a genius to know that they "expect" a certain "result", or they won't be hiring your polling company again...same for dems..

The way questions are worded, the length of the poll & questions, the time of day, the day of the week and obviously, the part of the country all can skew polls to "say" anything the pollster wants them to say...

and these days pollsters are even admitting (bragging?) that they "weight" polls internally, so they are telling us ahead of time, that they are making shit up..

14. CNN is still pushing the tight race meme...
------------------------------------------------
CNN poll of polls: Race remains tight

Obama is ahead of McCain by six points in Saturday’s poll of polls. Fifty percent of likely voters nationally support Obama, 44 percent support McCain, and six percent are unsure about their choice for president.

------------------------------------------------

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/11/01/cnn-poll-of-polls-race-remains-tight/

:wtf: 6% average of several polls tight.

Obama is likely to win 350+ EV, if he wins the popular vote by 6.
