Reality Check for DU's Nervous Members
Obama safe electoral votes: 264...that's right 264 even if he runs around naked in Chicago. That includes Pennsylvania (21 e.v.)

Ok, Strongly leaning to Obama: Colorado (9); Nevada (5); Virginia (13)... Total=27
Now, he is ahead in Ohio (20); North Carolina (15); and Florida (27)...Total=62

That is why we will win. Now calm down, please.

1. 95% of me knows you're right. But I still feel
vaguely sick with the prospect that something could happen. I know it's illogical. Thanks for the reminder.

2. It always occurs at election time. McSatan and his 666 scars lying
and this is nothing new, he has lied all his life, including his revisionist history about his days being a POW. He lied to his first wife, he lied to CIndy and he lied to the lobbyist mistress. he lied during Keating 5, he lied on national TV, he lied about Sarah Palin being ready to be VP, he lied to his children, he lied to our soldiers, he lied about his colleagues in Congress, and he has always lied to America. But he has only 72 hours of lying and on election day all his chickens will come home to roost. He will be a defeated man waiting to meet his Creator to receive his ultimate punishment.

3. Same here...
and if I may draw a sports analogy...

There was a similar scenario going into this year's Superbowl

On paper...in reality....judging from their performance over the months preceding....NE was supposed to have beaten the stuffings out of NY.

The reality was something quite different, as we all know. :( (I am a Pats fan who was literally SICK for weeks over that loss, but anyway...)

So I don't take anything for granted anymore.

Part of me is comfortable with the lead Obama has...

the other part is filled with dread that something freakish might happen.

:scared:

4. It ain't happening: 264 solid blue states is our base, we only need 6 more for Obama to win...
it looks good. Whenever you have doubts just go for exercise, watch a movie. If you live in a solid blue state do as I said, if you live in a red state or a lean Obama then volunteer, only 72 hours left.

Sorry but I felt that NE was going to lose just like I felt John Kerry was going to lose
and the polls and results backed me up.

5. Would you have called the New Hampshire primary safe...
...for Obama in the last few days leading up to that vote?

8. No, I didn't. Clinton had a strong base there since Bill's 1992 victory

9. How would you account for the pollsters...
Edited on Sat Nov-01-08 09:24 AM by Mr_Jefferson_24
...being so off on predicting the Obama/Clinton race and so dead on accurate in virtually all the others for New Hampshire?

Look at what they had predicted...

From Bradblog:

That said, the the pre-election pollster's numbers (NOTE: that's not Exit Polls, but Pre-Election Polls!) were dead-on, for the most part, on the Republican side, as well as on the Democratic side. Except in the do-or-die (for Hillary) Clinton v. Obama race. I'm watching MSNBC right now, and they all seem to agree that the results, for the moment, defy explanation.

I concur.

Here's a screenshot of a round up of all of the latest polls from RealClearPolitics.com tonight, and more, to get an idea of the serious concerns here...
