All of my friends know how I feel about this election. I have hidden threads asking people here how to debunk bullshit emails they received. Well...wouldn't you know today I get one from somebody I considered a pretty good friend. We don't talk everyday but she knows where I stand on this election and who my candidate is. I actually thought Barack was her candidate too. I won't post the bullshit here but now I'm fucking pissed!

The email she forwarded was filled with the same crap McBush and Biblespice have been pushing including some shit about Barack not being able to pass a background check? What the fuck is wrong with these people? She's an educated person, she's been totally fucked over by the Bush years and yet she falls for this shit and then sends it to me? UUUGHGHH!! :wtf:

I basically told her that I thought she was smarter than this and told her she needed to fact check the bullshit and laugh at the rest and lose my fucking email and phone number if this was the path she was truly considering. I'm black, she's white, and while I couldn't pinpoint racism I'm defensive when you make fun of community organizers....so I'm done and I can't wait until Tuesday! I'm so sick of this shit!

Sorry...had to get that off my chest. I really can't understand dumb people believing some of the dumbest, idiotic shit floating around on the net. :grr:

Yesterday I reminded her to vote, as I am everyone, and she said she already did, and voted for Obama. She didn't give any reason, but had decided he was best.

I have gotten sick of the shit also, and am very appreciative when someone comes through.

4. I encountered a colleague at work who is a Dem supporting McCain

She really couldn't give me any rational reasons for her choice - only vague Fauxisms... it was disheartening. She said that she supported Hillary, and I said, "oh you're one of those folks." (meaning Hillary folk supp. McCain.) It makes no sense to me - if you supported Hillary, how can you vote Rep/McCain? There are no real similarities.


I said, c'mon now, do you really believe that stuff? What does "he isn't who he seems to be" really mean?


I think it's a load of crap. I tend to try to respect other people's POV, and I really think it's over the top when you know how someone feels. I think it's part of respecting that person's friendship, even if they don't agree with your politics.

There are a whole bunch of things being said, and you can easily start believing in one vs another. And when you start believing in something, you want it to be the right one. So changing that belief is nigh impossible.

At least they are voting on what they perceive to be facts/reasons.
