Why I Think Tonight's Obama Ad Could ABSOLUTELY Swing Some To Our Side:
Let's face it: There are many people voting for McCain simply to vote against Obama due to their ignorant hatred. But there are many undecideds and even more importantly, many claiming they'll vote for McCain, who are doing so due to their worries about Obama's wright/ayers ties, charges of socialism, charges of being muslim, blah blah blah etc. Now we all know how ridiculous and ignorant such charges are, but you'd be amazed at how many saying they're voting for McCain have been impacted by them. Even if they know the truth more now about the smears, they still had an initial almost fatally negative seed planted in their heads throughout the campaign. Many are not like us, as in they're not really political junkies and only hear a few things here and there about the candidates, whether from some short cliche in a newspaper, some stupid email or some stupid sound bite.

But I think there will be so many of them who will be blown away tonight. Obama has a way of getting your attention. A way of sucking you in and almost forcing you to listen to him. He has this way of just making you feel hopeful, without you even knowing quite how or why he did it. It just kinda happens. And tonight, when so many of these people tune in, they're gonna be gripped by him. The preconceived notions of him once upon a time planted will be challenged by their own eyes and ears. The will see this man, this real man, and they will think "ya know, he's not that bad at all. He's not the boogey man they made him out to be at all.", and they'll maybe awaken for the first time.

Don't think it could happen? Of course it can. In fact, I know for certain it will for some. It's just a question of how many. But there are millions of voters out there right now who have the wrong impression of him not because they WANT to, but because they aren't involved enough or engaged enough to simply know better. But tonight, they'll find out for themselves who Obama is. And who Obama is, as we all know, is one of the greatest presidential candidates of our time and someone who will so easily be able to impress them with his skill and intellect.

So I think tonight will absolutely have an impact, the more I think about it. Because I think after seeing him tonight, some are going to realize that the smears really are just smears, and that what they are witnessing is the historical election of an incredible man, human being, and president, who will look out for us all.

Can't wait to see the polls on Friday, after the impact trickles down.

1. The more "unfiltered" Obama exposure, the better.
People like his calm and reasoned demeanor.

2. I agree
I posted on another thread that I think this is a great strategy in a nation of TV addicts...

3. My only concern is that the Repugs will treat it like they did the German speech.
Turn it around and make a joke out of it.

I never did understand that whole shenanigan, but it sure took the air out of the huge number attending.
