The Obama commercial tonight is meaningless.
There are no more undecideds. I don't care what the MSM says. The opinions on this thing tonight will depend entirely on how one intends to vote. If you're voting for Obama, you'll like it. If not, you won't.

and losing them.

2. believe it or not, there are still undecideds. Because McCain has a reputation as moderate..
..or independent. Now we all know that's BS, but his rep has always been more moderate. The people who cannot decide, I think, are ones that still believe that branding and are torn between (what they mistakenly believe) two similar candidates.

I don't think it's meaningless.. I think it'll be interesting.

thats why everything is important in this stage of the game.. there might only be about 2% of soft supporters but if Obama can get them it will be worth it...

26. That's what I was thinking.
They've been doing really well so far, so I'm going to trust them this time too.

Furthermore,
there are so many whisper campaigns floating around that a direct fireside chat or infomercial may be just the thing to defuse them.

Followed by calling in to the Daily Show tonight and the interview with Rachel Maddow tomorrow.

9. It will do these things, all positive:

1. Own a news cycle, with very few of them left

2. Solidify his support among "soft" Obama supporters

3. Advance the narrative that this team is the "winning team"... and there's time to jump on board

4. Demoralize Republicans

5. Fire up the base... so they all work that much harder the final 5 days.

Each of these is important. Together, I'm betting they add up to 2% in the polls.

All the state reporting is great. Obama will win. He's fighting on his own terms. The media are for McCain of course. It's a though campaign. But we'll win. This is far, far different than 2004, and we almost won that time even.

16. This commercial is not meaningless !!!
1) I have been making calls to Ohio and there are undecided voters.
2) This commercial is important and very meaningful to all the grassroots volunteers that need a shot in the arm to keep working for this through Nov. 4th
3) This commerical is important because many people need to be reminded why they cannot change their minds.
4) A vote is not a vote until it is cast. This commercial is needed to preserve the uncast votes.
5) This commercial might reach people in Red States that could still turn miraculously blue.

I am proud of Obama for taking this step to talk to the Nation. We here in Texas who were so important in the primary are looking forward to seeing this coverage since we have not gotten the rallies and commercials that other States get.

Any time you can inspire the masses! As one comment earlier
fire up the base. Give people the reason to go out and
volunteer. I have been getting calls today to find out the
time that it is showing so they can plan to watch (I work from
home).

If this inspires people to do more between now and Tuesday
than we are that much better off. The race does not end until
the polls close on Nov.4!

25. African American Candidate named Barack Hussein Obama in post 9-11 America
outperforms the most formidable political machines in the U.S., on the heels of 24-7 propaganda in the MSM x 8 years; extreme ethno-centricity, racism, xenophobia and bellicosity in the general population...

making HISTORY

AND you want me to believe that YOU, are smarter than HIM?

um, no?

Fact: not only ARE there "undecideds," he, not the MSM or GOP, need to determine what the conversation is, for the next seven days... the more he and his message are in the public mind this week, even if it's the SAME OLD message... the better.

Leaving no blank spaces of time for others to fill in with crap... doesn't make sense to you eh?

Well anyway,, I think you are wrong about that.. In fact I am working with undecideds (I will be the first to admit, it stumps me why we have them at this juncture).. but if you multiply them out enough, they could make the difference in these really close states for us to not only flip red states, but help the down tickets.

There are many who have entered the political fray inspired by Obama, and somewhat on his coattails.

The election is now in our hands. We are the ground game Barack is counting on. Forget the pundits, the polls, and the propaganda - this election is now about us. We need to work like the devil knocking on doors, making calls, driving folks to the polls, and giving till it hurts. This is our campaign and we stand on the threshold of a new America. Do it for our party, for our nation, and for our children

The thing is, there ARE still undecideds and there are people who aren't regular voters that need to be convinced that it's worth their effort to go to the polls. I also think there is some soft support for McCain that could be swayed to vote for Obama. Even if it just helps America to get to know him better, I think it's worthwhile.

59. You do realize that not everyone makes it out on election day don't you?
There is more to running a campaign than simply winning over the undecideds, there are very few undecideds in any major national election. What is crucial to winning an election is not so much getting the undecideds to pick you, what is most important is ensuring that people on your side make it to the polls. It doesn't matter if tonights infomercial doesn't convert a single person, if it reminds people to get out to vote that could make a big difference.
