McCain responds to reports of infighting: "a couple of mavericks aren't always going to agree"

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2008/10/28/2008-10-28_john_mccain_calls_reports_of_infighting_.html

WASHINGTON - John McCain yesterday dismissed reports of sniping and backstabbing between his staff and Sarah Palin's - and the candidates themselves.

"That's pure baloney, we get along fine," McCain told Orland's WFTV. "There's always some in-fighting among staffs that goes on."

He added that "a couple of mavericks aren't always going to agree on every issue."

3. Whenever I see the word 'maverick,' I automatically translate it to 'a**hole' in my mind.
Anyone else do that?

4. What a couple of assholes - who else goes around calling themselves...
..."mavericks" or anything else like that ~ it's one thing for someone else to say it; it's pitiful to say it themselves.

6. Right, John. A couple of "mavericks" aren't always going to agree.
I would suggest, though, that while actively campaigning, it might be best to at least give the appearance of unity. :eyes:
