I worked the front desk at our Obama office yesterday. All signs, buttons, stickers, etc., are free now, as we have made our quota. We gave lots away, since somebody stole a bunch of signs on Saturday night.

So if your sign has been stolen, you may be able to get a free replacement. Some offices don't have any left, but some do. The ones that opened later are more likely to still have signs on hand.

When my neighbor's sign was stolen he put a homemade one out. It says: Stealing our Obama sign won't make Palin any smarter or McCain any younger.

I took him a new sign yesterday afternoon but he's still gonna keep that one up.

1. At our office we've been replacing stolen ones for free all along
Now the price has been cut from $10 to $5 for first signs. Our county Dems have been using the signs to also raise money for local candidates.

4. Yeah, we went to $5 last week too. I was really pleased that they're
free now, especially since so many people had theirs stolen.

But the best part was that they all came in for new ones instead of just giving up. They're in the mood to stand up for what they believe in. After so many years of being beaten down, people are saying Not This Time.

2. We had a huge banner that was cut down off our tree over the w/e!
I paid at least $40 bucks for it online and it had been tied to our huge street corner eucalyptus tree since before the primaries ended. The grommets are actually still hanging on the ropes. I'm so pissed! They also stole our "No on Prop 8" yard sign right off the corner. Our neighbor's Obama yard signs were stolen, twice. It's sad to see this much hate in our little corner of the world.

I'm gonna go down to our local office this week and see if I can get a yard sign. It'll be much much smaller than what we had up there, but at least it'll be something.

:grr: Hey thieves, YOU lose. Change IS coming, no matter how many signs you steal or destroy.

Deal with it.

3. Yesterday we had a person who was so angry that she got 5 signs
for all her front windows (the cardboard ones) and another yard sign. She figured she'd make a point that way. :)

5. Someone came into our local county Dems office, which doubles as an Obama office,
when I was there yesterday who had had signs stolen. She asked for one of those cardboard signs to put in her front window to foil the thieves. We also had a big round drawing of Obama with copy around it telling people to vote. It adheres to just about any surface. I took one for my front window. It's very cool.
