This left-hander business.......
So, only 10% of the population is left-handed, including....

Barack Obama
John McCain
Bill Clinton
George Bush Snr
Ronald Reagan
Gerald Ford

And Al Gore, John Edwards, Bob Dole and Ross Perot.

Since 1974 Jimmy Carter and George W Bush were the only right-handed politicians to have made it to the White House.

Kinda spooky.

I'm going to stop using my right hand, I don't want to feel left out.

1. As one who is left handed, I applaud this.
OK, so Bush Sr., McPain, and Reagan weren't the best examples, but Obama, Clinton, and Harry Truman are.

BTW, Al Gore and John Edwards are right handed.

4. I should have known not to trust the UK Telegraph....
"Other leading American left-handers include Al Gore, John Edwards, the Democratic vice-presidential nominee four years ago, and Michael Bloomberg, the Mayor of New York."

It rarely gets anything right!

2. Lefties Unite!
Barack and I were both born on August 4th (10 years apart) and are both lefties.

Maybe in 10 years I can be President!

Nah, I could only really run as McCain's VP, otherwise I'd never get past the vetting process.

3. Left handed people have dominant right brains, supposedly?
Are lefties more likely to go into politics? I wonder if there is a higher percentage of left-handed people in politics compared to the general population.

Very interesting!

6. Well, here's one theory...
"It is possible that left-handed politicians are more strong-willed because they've chosen not to conform to a right-handed world," said Jan van Strien, an expert on biological psychology at Erasmus University, Rotterdam.

17. But I think that theory agrees with you!
I can even remember the nuns in my school, many years ago, trying to force left-handed kids to write with their right - they had some weird ****ed up idea that being left-handed was somehow 'wrong'.

So I think that theory that I quoted is saying that kids who resisted that kind of ridiculous pressure showed themselves to be strong-willed from an early age.

11. It simply indicates they are more right brain dominate.
Most use their left like all others, interpreting sensors in the physical world. Using more of your right is like sorta having more RAM.

If the right side of the brain rules the left side of the body, then only left handers are in their right mind.
