Smear ads by apparent 527s all over TV in NoVA yesterday and today

I've seen several ads attacking Obama with some of the same old lies (he'll tax small business so they can't create new jobs, bla, bla, bla) attributed to orgs. that I have never heard of, such as "LetFreedomRing". So much for McCain's $ disadvantage, campaign reform, Obama broke his promise to me, I'll never go negative, etc., etc.

These are sickening, since they may influence the people who don't follow politics much but do like to watch football and morning news.

My hope is that they will be perceived as negative and offputting by these people, and backfire.

1. Sickening yes, but they shouldn't do too much damage

McCain has been using the same old attacks for quite some time with minimal effectiveness. His unfavorables keep growing, and such ads will probably increase them.
