Good results in. No yellers or refusers and far more SOLID Obama supports than fence balancers.

Funny thing was I PASSED my McCain counterparts (according to my neighbor Fred_!

Two seniors (70s) walking with a grandchild(?). They didn't look to optimistic and had no idea that I was doing the same for the other side. The odd part was the kid...around 4 years old. Were they bringing the kid to hide behind so people didn't get verbally abusive? To show how "pro-family" they are?

Curious.

10. Was in N. Arlington for a week about 10 days ago helping my brother move. I'm in Front Royal where
it's still so fucking red it's sickening. I could scream with the McSame/Palin yard signs. It was gradually changing before the housng market tanked and oil prices went thru the roof. Folks were building/buying out here who were 5 or so years from retiring, but can't do it now.

I'm volunteering at the our Obama office here and driving folks to the polls on Nov 4th. At some point in the near future we'll catch up with you guys 45 minutes East of us! It is sooo beautiful out here though. I moved from the Fair Oaks area ab out 5 yrs ago when I retired. Our idea of a traffic jam is 6 cars at a light!

Thanks for volunteering today.

11. I was actually out there yesterday!
My buddy moved out there and had a little get together. Great place. Really remote though.

Lots of Palin/McCain signs...some Obama too. Pretty sad. Those giant freaking churches they have...all within the past 10 years.

7. I canvassed in Woodbridge, VA yesterday!

Similar results....lots of Obama supporters excited to learn about early voting. One undecided/lean repub, that was disgusted by the "dishonorable campaign" McCain has run. She also felt that he had no vision. I have a feeling she was just voting republican because her husband voted that way, but I reminded her that it would just be her alone in that booth. I hope she comes around.

There were at least 100 people coming in and out of the two offices used by the campaign on a miserable, rainy day. Hilariously, there was a McCain office in a tiny house next door to the office park barely had any activity. I felt very good about VA.

But I remain skeptical and worrysome until things are truly in the bag.

9. Don't you need an excuse to early vote in VA? How are you handling that?
are you telling them that they can early vote with an excuse? Are many people doing that in Virginia? How good does the excuse need to be?

13. About the child with the older couple
I don't know their situation, but many parents and grand parents have been left with the job of raising the kids. So many young people have gotten into relationships that are not lasting. However, the very people who spout the crap about how they care for families, such as Focus on the Family, oppose providing young people with comprehensive sex education and stressing contraception. Palin's daughter is a prime example of their failed policies. In fact all of the Republican policies have been a failure. This is just one in a long list.

14. Leave the kid at home.
One person is all is needed for canvasing. I would not bring my daughter with me even in this blue neighborhood.

15. Got back from Richmond.
It is solid Obama. The few McCain-Palin supporters are driving around like maniacs. I guess their days of lawbreaking and tax dodging are coming to a screeching halt.
