Bush is like Clinton? - according to CNN's Schneider
He said that people hated Clinton, constantly protested against him but he was likable and the voters thought: how can they hate him? He is such a nice, warm hearted person? And thus his approval rating grew even in the midst of the Lewinski story.

Same thing, Schneider continued, is about Bush. He is hated, every place he goes there are protesters but, like Clinton, he is likable - gave a sentence or two from his recent speech.

Hey, Bill. They are not the same. RWers hated Clinton personally, were offended by the fact that a governor from a small state, and from the South, of all places, was elected to be President. Twice. Presided over a major economic expansion that lifted everyone's standard of living.

I don't hate Bush. I despise him as a person, don't find him likable at all. But I and most of us here, hate his policies, not the person. In contrast to Clinton, he has made our lives miserable with no end in sight. Any warm thought that he may have in his heart are reserved to the rich and powerful.

1. As we now have seen...
get below the surface on slime in politics, and you find Texas Republicans. Rich Texas Republicans. Rich texas Republicans who are rich enough to fund their political manure-spreading projects to levels where they can develop and infrastructure that gives said projects enough apparent credibility.

How does that apply to the fundamentals to the trials and tribulations of Bill Clinton? It's easy:

Name one thing more reviled in Texas, by Good Ol' Boys, than Arkansas.

When you think about it, it all started with a football rivalry.

2.  Schneider is full of it.
Beyond being carbon based life forms, there is no resemblance beyond a superficial
comparison. I actually do hate bush, in the same way Englishmen hated Napoleon.

There is nothing in his mendacity and mediocre character that is admirable.

14. To call him 'pitiable' lets him off the hook.
No punch left unpulled: I hate him.

5. The media called Bush smirky and snearing and sarcastic when he first ran.
for presdident in 2000.....Why did they (including Schneider)later decide he was warm and cuddly?.....He looks and acts exactly the same....Something is fishy here!

6. If people love Bush, why do they keep the people AWAY from him?
Edited on Tue Sep-07-04 09:42 AM by Lex
.
Why can he NEVER go out into the masses, like Kerry and Edwards AND like Clinton used to do?

Why did 500,000 protest him in NYC?

Why did he never get out of his car at the Presidential Inauguration motorcade and had eggs thrown at his motorcade--as shown in F 9/11?

Come on, ALL EVIDENCE points to the fact that the masses DESPISE Smirk.

They have to get people to sign loyalty oaths, for godsake, so that people won't try to tear him apart at campaign stops.

Schneider should stick to the FACTS. People despise Bush.

7. People "constantly" protested against Bill Clinton?
WTF?

This is one of my favorite memes when arguing with Republicans. I like to point to the huge NYC protest, and the many protests overseas when Bush came calling.

"Didn't see much of that in the Clinton years, did we? And it's got to hurt even more when you're protested by your own people," I'm fond of saying.

What a bunch of horseshit. Anyone remember this kind of stuff during the Clinton years?

8. Hated but likable?
Go figure.

I may be weird, but I'd rather have a beer with Al Gore or John Kerry than Bush. I like to discuss art and literature and can't imagine Bush having anything worthwhile to say on those subjects.

If Bush and Clinton have anything in common, it is that they are liars. However, Clinton's lies about love didn't amount to a hill of beans; Bush's lies about war have gotten thousands of people killed in the pursuit of corporate profits.

9. Uh Bill, you dimwit, Bush is hated around the world
and Clinton is a rock star by comparison. When Clinton shows up in a foreign country, they don't have to mobilize their army to keep the peace and cordon off 10 square miles of access zones like they do for Bush. Clinton's administration were free to travel around the world and were welcomed, and Powell couldn't even go to the closing ceremonies of the Olympics.

Likewise in the US, Clinton didn't have "invitation only" rallies and have his handlers pack the venue with certified supporters.

Save your Pravda dribble for the lowbrows that are populating the ranks of the Republican party you so wholely love. Oh, and sign your kids up to go fight for the party in Iran, Syria, or Iraq, Bush needs dimwitted patriots to bear the burden while his "base" sells off America to the cheapest bidder.

You are scum Billy boy.

15. I hear ya man!
Even the weather was better under BC. Two hurricanes in only a few days which of course the poor and minorities are the hardest hit! Dislocated minorities in Florida probably won't vote. I smell something fishy here and not a peep from the so called "liberal media"! We need to get rid of this racist bastard and all his little bushlickers NOW before he causes more shit like this!

11. I heard his pundit pap this morning...
What a crock. He ought to examine the reasons why people HATE Bush vs. those who hate Clinton. Clinton is hated because of his superior skills as a politician and his real sense of populism and wanting to advance this country in the right direction. Bush is HATED for just the opposite. He is an effite elitist who poses as a populist and is about to drive this country into a ditch it will never be pulled out of.

Go analyze yourself Schneider... or are you afraid of what you will dig up in that smarmy egoic cesspool?

16. Call 404-827-0234 and press 8 to talk to a live CNN operator.
Add that they need to run a disclaimer whenever they offer commentary by a paid shill from a RepubliCON think tank (AEI).
