"Leaked" Obama internal polls for PA???
Some freeper dumbass was on CNN a few minutes ago and was talking about an Obama internal which showed only a 2 point lead in Pennsylvania. He said there was a news story about this. Only thing I could find was an editorial in some right-wing rag that probably wouldn't even pass for toilet paper in the tightest of pinches. Has anybody else heard of this "leaked" internal poll?

Here's a link to the freeper rag if anybody would care to take a look:

1. This is old news
from last week and it was debunked. If this was true O would be in PA most of next week non stop.

10. nope, sorry, can't talk you down. make yourself feel better by calling PA voters.
there are lots of PA polls, none of them show anywhere near a 2 point lead. you are either going to side with a raft of those or tear your hair out over a rumor that is denied.

if that's how you decide what to worry about, we aren't going to be able to fix that here.

sorry for the snark, but think about what you are really demanding --it's totally unreasonable. enough information is readily available for you to figure out that a rumor compared against a bunch of solid polls is not credible.

12. More of a request than a demand.
Reply said it was old news and debunked. I'm only looking for some reassurance. If somebody says something's been debunked, I don't think it's totally unreasonable to request additional information.

I'm calling PA voters. Support here seems to be solid. I'm confident PA will be bright blue on November 4.

13. the campaign said that the person that started the rumor was wrong
and reprimanded.

but that's about it. they didn't say what the internal polls, if any, said.

there simply isn't enough in this actual story to totally dispute the rumor, but there is plenty of other evidence, other polls, etc. suggesting that the rumor is totally bogus.

but as far as someone coming out and saying, "no such poll exists and the real point spread is...," nope that's not there.

nevertheless, Kerry won PA by two points and that was enough to win it. Obama is running a better campaign, has more ads, more outreach and isn't simply relying on Pittsburgh and Philadelphia to carry him over.

16. Thanks CreekDog.
I just read a a good piece with lots of comments at Daily Kos:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/10/15/05041/703/752/630799

I now have a much better grasp of the origins of the rumor, and beieve that it's just that, a rumor.

I now realize that. The thoughts of them trying to steal this election get to me from time to time. This was one of those times.

9. Good question...
I think it'd be best for me to go with the words of wisdom in your sig line. All credible polls show Obama with a comfortable lead in PA.

I'm stressing way too much.

34. I think it was "leaked" because it was a deliberate lie.
It was to get McCain to spend enormous sums of money in PA so he couldn't challenge Obama as effectively in the red states we are turning blue. Beautiful move and shows McCain as a sucker!

11. Red states turning blue have McCain desperate.
They have a desperate belief that if they can turn PA red that it will offset those electoral vote losses. Personally, I think McCain's strategists may have already told him it's over. I have NO proof of this, I didn't read it anywhere, I just think it's possible.

Yeah, I don't know what to believe, some guy saying that some guy said that at some point Obama's internal polls may have showed him up only 2 in PA, or the mountains of actual polling data that show Obama with at least an 8 point lead.

If McCain is using this alleged leaked poll as the reason for his decision to throw all his resources into PA, then I'd say his campaign has been majorly punked.

Pennsylvania can still be up for grabs, despite recent polling.

Then again, some people used to think tomatoes were neurotoxic.

Turns out they aren't.
