There are many reasons why they pulled out of Michigan, but I can't help but think that the Muslim smears will also badly damage the Republicans in Eastern Michigan. Florida also has a lot of Muslims too.

Republicans will be in the doghouse among Muslims for decades as a consequence of this Muslim bating.

1. A whole lot of Muslims in the US are prosperous MD types who used to largely
vote Republican before Bush. I don't think very many of them will go anywhere near a Republican for a few generations.

4. Didn't Muslims already switch from massively supporting repubs to massively supporting dems?
I recall reading somewhere that Bush won the Muslim vote by like 50% or some large number like that in 2000, and that in 2004 the numbers were reversed, with Kerry winning them by just as wide of a margin as Bush once did.
