...saying that these are classic examples of elections where the winner of the popular vote came ROARING back with only a week to spare.

The problem is, Gore/Bush and Carter/Reagan were all close elections for weeks on end--then, late in the game, their opponents had a late bump, but eventually the winner came roaring back to catch up. And in both cases, the election was still quite close.

According to Gallup.com, this election hasn't been close for more than a month--the numbers have been steadily high for Obama and steadily low for McCain, suggesting that most voters have made up their minds already. I truly believe it would take an absolute DISASTER on our side for McCain to reverse those numbers. And now that a potential disaster, Ashley Todd, turned out to be a hoax and cancelled out the credibility of future disasters, I think it's pretty much over.

1. So does that mean they're finally admitting Gore won?

All Obama needs is Missouri, Florida, Ohio, North Carolina OR Indiana ... one of those states ... and he wins.

5. The thing to remember about Carter-Reagan
Is they had their one and only debate exactly a week before the election, and that's what turned things around for Reagan.
