I dunno if it was the B-woman or what, but it just feels like it's over to me.

Just feels like its over.

They got nothing but hate on their side. That's it.

No big new ideas. No realization that we need big, new ideas.

It's all attack on their side. Call Obama and Biden and Dems every name in the book. Throw the **** until something sticks. But nothing's going to stick. That's obvious. What sticks is the blatant realization that they have nothing to offer beyond fear mongering. That's it - that's all they have. America sees it too, sees through it too.

And after the B woman, I mean, dayum, how low will we see this shit go, it just hits me, like it has already hit some/many here - it's over.

'Course, it's not physically, factually, truly over until the votes put Obama over the top, but I know - suddenly, I know it is over.

Hate and fear have lost to hope and respect. The old has lost to the new. Change has won.

I know it now.

1. Bad idea to celebrate early. No offense.
I think it would be wise to stick to the 'cautious optimism' thing for now. We've been warned about getting complacent.

Plenty of time to celebrate Nov. 5th dude

Sorry if I'm a wet blanket...been burned too many fucking times. I say we wait.

8. It's no excuse to stop trying to score
but at this point we're tacking on vanity touchdowns just to improve our ranking. Not that there's anything wrong with that. When I was in college here at the U of MN Twin Cities Nebraska could have cooled it off in a game in my junior year. They did put in their second and third strings, but never stopped trying to score. The game ended 84-13 for the Huskers. That's where we are now. Keep piling in on.

20. Absolutely. Pile it the fuck on.
I want so badly to see these asshole CRUSHED because nobody, in my entire life, and I'm 56 years old, has deserved to get BURIED like these blood-soaked bastards. Well, maybe Reagan. And Nixon. But I digress...

I tend to think of Chuck Todd as a sort of a shill for McCain, but after he watched the joint interview on NBC with McCain and Palin he came out and said, they're losing and they know they're losing.

Strange -- Palin just completely took over that interview. She answered questions that started "Senator Mccain. . .". She looked like a daughter interviewing the director of a retirement home, making sure that Pops could watch Murder, She Wrote every afternoon at 3.

3. After this weekend of torture, maybe I'll feel the...

...way that you do.

McPalin is going to be doing a tour of my state (Iowa) this weekend. They're going to three
different cities. I know they don't know me, but it feels like they're both pounding my head
with a mallet.

Why here? They're 14 points behind in Iowa. Can't they torture the people of Florida or Ohio?

What about Virginia? It's a close race in that state! Real close.

Why do I have to be tortured with Palin's folksy Fascism, and McCain's wheezing lies, all weekend?

5. It's felt like it's been over for several weeks to me.
Nothing McCain throws at him is working. I have a lot of confidence in Obama and his team and I really think we're taking this one, and taking it BIG.

...and before anyone brings it up, NO, that does not mean I'm going to stop working.

We don't REALLY have to be admonished like slow children every time we dare show a little confidence.

10. Its not over
we have them on the run big time though and we will win if we refuse to relent.

Hunt them down with vigor and with gladness in your hearts. We will take them down but rest assured they will never lay down and die and they will fight to the end.

12. I'm not going to count any chickens, but it feels like 1992 when Poppy started talking about "Bozos"
and calling Al Gore "Ozone Man".

Bill Clinton, of course, had a great response to that; "What's he got against Bozo? Bozo makes people laugh- George Bush only makes people cry".

Yeah. Cautiously, guardedly, it's been feeling a lot like October 1992, to me.

Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 03:47 AM by Waiting For Everyman
Regardless of the vote, that's a fact. Most people don't believe what they say anymore. That's clear from Obama's polls going up each time they pull a stunt or a smear.

The public isn't buying it, and this B-girl silliness put the cherry on top of the sundae... in the exact place (Pittsburgh) where they planned to make a comeback between now and Election Day... starting from 10 to 12 points down to begin with.

I don't see it happening either.

19. Landslide
We have all got to be diligent and work our asses off to achieve the biggest democratic landslide in the history of the United States!

We've got the shackles of CROOKED AND FIXED VOTING in many parts of the USA!

Dems lost the last two Presidential Elections to crooked rigged voting!

See Greg Palast and RFK JR's work of late.

We've got to be gargantuan to overcome the Republican cheat machine!

I share the same feeling. It's like the election itself is a victory lap. That feeling may be the universe's way of telling you to look at the news less and maybe volunteer for some down-ballot candidates more.

24. I get what you're saying. For the first time in months....
I think a lot of us have taken their first deep breath and it feels good. No one need chide us or remind us not to be complacent, we are solid democrats and duers and we will not falter in our efforts to get Obama elected.

It does feel good to be able to let go a little and just enjoy the moment after one of the longest and most arduous election cycles in my lifetime. I'm starting to see light at the end of the tunnel and it feels damn good.

Every day more and more people are voting. The media is on their knees praying for a McCain comeback story, trying to somehow draw a parallel to the GOP primary season that makes no sense.
