900,000 have voted in Georgia, 830,000 in North Carolina, and 470,000 in Florida
In Georgia some 900,000 people -- more than 25 percent of Georgia's total turnout in 2004 -- had voted early by Thursday afternoon, with a heavy turnout of black voters in the mix.

North Carolina, which until weeks ago was considered likely to vote for McCain, reported more than 830,000 voters had voted early, with about 2.5 registered Democrats turning out for every one Republican.

In Florida, also until recently believed solidly behind McCain, more than 470,000 people had voted by Thursday, 54.5 percent of them registered Democrats, and only 30.5 percent registered Republicans.

900,000 = 27.4% of the 3,280,403 who voted in 2004 in Georgia.

GOTV, Now!

2. That's wonderful. Every state should offer early voting.

3. Interesting (great) fact in NC:
31% of voters so far are AA.

More AA's that are registered as Democrat have voted than all of the Republicans put together.

8. Here it is:
"In North Carolina, blacks make up 31 percent of early voters so far, even though they're just 21 percent of the population and made up only 19 percent of state's overall 2004 vote."

"More than 210,000 blacks who are registered as Democrats have cast early ballots in the Tar Heel State - compared with roughly 174,000 registered Republicans overall."

9. I voted early here in East TN
The lady that was working the polls told some people standing in line that 1800 people had voted in that polling place in one day.

My former supervisor went out to vote and called me at work to tell me he had been waiting in line for the 30 minutes the place was packed.

This is highly unusual for where I live.
