McCain has to win EVERY ONE of these states to win the election, Obama only has to win ONE.

And They Are *All* Trending BLUE.

11. And NM, NH. I don't think PA is in play anymore.
All Obama really needs to do is make sure he wins VA and NM, then with MN, WI, and PA he has 273.

5. call me a simple fool....go ahead, I'll wait....but I won't be surprised
to see a 50 state Obama victory. Not likely, I'll grant. I'm in Oklahoma, and have been subjected to some completely rascist and disgusting tv ads, but I still think it's possible. Anyone care to join me?

7. actually Obama doesn't need any of those states

If he simply takes Kerry 2004 states and takes CO NM IA he will have 273.

McCain must win all of those states and take back 4 EVs from one of the other states.

10. But PA is a Kerry state. So Obama either needs to hold that..
Edited on Fri Oct-24-08 08:23 PM by jefferson_dem
or make up for it with VA + NV (in addition to the blue trifecta of IA, NM, and CO, which are pretty much in the bag.

8. I think McCain can sacrifice VA as long as he wins NV + PA, NC, FL, OH, IN, & MO
And all the other Bush states. That would give him 273.

Whatever, the old bastard is obviously playing defense - he is running out of room ... and time.

13. That's not true. Obama needs to win PA + IA, NM, and CO to win (if he wins no others on that list)

16. He's up by 9 in IA, by 10+ in PA, by 8 in NV, by 4½ in CO, and by 1½ in ND
Edited on Fri Oct-24-08 09:00 PM by Bucky
He's up by 4½ in Virginia and by more than 5 in Indiana.

McCain doesn't have a win on the current board. Maybe if Obama shoots Mylie Cyrus on live TV, he could get back in the game...

15. PS: interesting home state trivia. What do AZ and IL have in common?
Edited on Fri Oct-24-08 08:32 PM by Bucky
They both have a border with exactly one red state (as seen here): Illinois shares a short border with Kentucky--all others are blue.
Arizona shares a long dry border with red Utah, but California, Nevada, Colorado, & New Mexico are all blue.

Let's hope so, but historically, it's been blood-red.

21. You are almost right. But if Obama holds PA, McCain has to win all the others.
But he doesn't have to win all including PA.

This assumes that Obama will win the Kerry states plus IA and NM which he will.

24. McC can have Ohio and FL. He will not get PA. Virginia, yes VIRGINIA will decide this election
and by Sunday everyone inside the castle walls of DC will never mention it again just like you haven't heard anyone talk about the outrageous rebellious results from 2006
