A reminder of what we are up against - our day at the NC State Fair

I am not complaining about the event - it is tradition, it is something that many, many families save for the year to attend (it is a ripoff unless you avoid the rides...that obviously is where the money is made).

But by our estimation it was 90-95% McCain buttons and stickers, 5-10% at the very most Obama/Biden. We proudly wore our buttons - I had one on my hat. You could see the eyes flash there, but no one said anything to us - except two lovely women working the SPCA tent...we had a very encouraging 15 minute chat (they said how relieved they were to see Obama supporters, since we were so rare at the fair!).

It is always good for those of us who are in urban areas, college towns and suburbs to remember that there is a vast region of people who are drinking the kool aid.

It is so good to be home....that's enough Freeper contact for at least a year!
