So this morning the McCain spokesperson on the today show
was............Herbert Hoover's great grand-daughter. When questioned about her g-grandfather by Matt Lauer she took the end of the interview to explain how FDR's plan didn't work for America. The McCain team is unbelievable.

2. The statement aside
could they have picked a worse spokesperson in these economic times than a relative of Hoover? Maybe only if they could resurrect Hoover his ownself.

3. It would be great to take some pictures
The USA had it not been for FDR. Bridges, schools, parks, all kinds of landmarks missing. The campus of IU, where I went to grad school, wouldn't be nearly as beautiful and welcoming had it not been for the WPA.

That brought electricity to the country for the first time.

4. I was just taking the time last night to explain to my daughter
why percisely we needed a plan like FDR created. It was mainly to put people to work, and get them moving again by putting money in their pockets, and the businesses around them. The shame of what has gone on in this Country during this bail out is that it does the oppisite of what is turely needed right now.

5. Ya know, it probably isn't too bright sending out a 'Hoover' to defend your economic plan.
Most people associate Hoover with the Great Depression. It's kind of ironic that the Hoovers are supporting McCain.

6. The Right has never accepted the New Deal

Here we are, 70 years later and they're still losing sleep over it. It's pathetic. I think they have a fantasy in mind where everyone lived like they were in an episode of "Little House on the Prarie" before FDR came along. The truth, of course, is that most people looked more like the lost souls in "Let Us Now Praise Famous Men" -- poor, toothless, one foot in the grave and the other poking out the end of a worn out boot.

7. FDR's plan sure worked for my corner of America...
My family benefitted greatly from the Civilian Conservation Corps. It helped them (rural southern dirt-farmers and seasonal migrant workers) get back on their feet, to start businesses, etc. The Repubs have no clue...none at all.

9. My Mom and Dad always praised FDR
and credited that plan for literally saving their families lives. My amazement is that they would send her out to represent McCain at all especially in these times.

8. Maybe Monday they'll send out Jefferson Davis' great-great granddaughter
to explain how Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation thing didn't work for America...
