From a purely selfish perspective, the best thing about an Obama win
will be that I can stop being so pissed off and politically obsessed. I'll be able to use that energy for other stuff: work, family, whatever. Not that I think the wingnuts are just going to crawl away to their basements to masturbate obsessively over Sarah Palin poen until 2012: of course they won't. But they'll be thoroughly irrelevant, and no one (NO one) will take them seriously. Whatever other crises come our way will be small potatoes emotionally compared to the stress I'm dealing with in the run-up to this election (and no, I won't really breathe easy until Obama's been inaugurated and has taken up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.).
