Please help me with debunking this article

Would the Last Honest Reporter Please Turn On the Lights?

I've read what I could find about Orson Scott Card on DU, and Googled him, etc. He seems to be a homophobic right-winger, at the least. And I immediately took issue with his claim that the financial crisis was caused by minorities who wouldn't pay their mortgages - I know the roots of the crisis are much more complicated than that.

What I need is some help debunking his specific claims regarding Democrats being against regulating the mortgage market, and his claims against Obama.

I'm still looking at things myself, but any help will be greatly appreciated.
