Palin stumped when asked to explain her preconditions for meeting foreign leaders - interview on NBC
Palin stumped when asked to explain her preconditions for meeting foreign leaders.By Faiz Shakir at 8:10 pm Palin stumped when asked to explain her preconditions for meeting foreign leaders.»
Gov. Sarah Palin has attacked Sen. Barack Obama for being “so off base in his proclamation that he would meet with some of these leaders around our world who would seek to destroy America and that, and without preconditions being met.” When asked by NBC’s Brian Williams what are some of those preconditions she envisions, Palin was stumped:

WILLIAMS: Governor Palin, yesterday you tied this notion of an early test to the new president. Would this notion of precondition –

PALIN: Right.

WILLIAMS: — that you both have been hammering the Obama campaign on. What — first of all, what in your mind is a precondition?

PALIN: You have to have some diplomatic strategy going into a meeting with someone like Ahmadinejad or Kim Jong-il, one of these dictators that would seek to destroy America or her allies. It is so naive and so dangerous for a presidential candidate to just proclaim that they would be willing to sit down with a– a leader like Ahmadinejad and just talk about the problems, the issues that are facing them. So that — that’s — that’s some ill-preparedness right there.

Watch it:

3. Must see TV is Hardball tonight. He interviews Williams and Chuck Todd. They said McCain and Palin
were very uneasy with each other. There was a lot of nervous tension in the room, and they didn't appear to have formed any kind of bond.

9. I think McCain had his "beer goggles" on when he picked Palin
And now he's looking at her, wondering, "What the hell was I thinking?!"

5. A very good technique. He called their bluff.
This is something we need to do more often.

I'm not sure how one would do it with the Willie Horton claim. But I'm sure this is an effective way to defuse their empty claims.

6. She is the poster-child of ill-preparedness.
She didn't even explain Williams' question. Like the debate, she threw out a gaggle of words to see which one would stick. The problem here is that she can't even wrap her mind around the simplest concepts. And the sad thing is that if she were to participate in any high level talks, she would not have the intellectual acumen to even negotiate a treaty or to conduct relations with any world leader.

Her lack of explanation should send a chill down everyone's back. If we give Sarah the reins, we might as well prepare for "The Day After".

7. And that was no gotcha. I heard someone on one of the commentary
shows state that this was a question that she should be asked. If no one in the McPalin camp has been keeping track of these things and getting her up to speed on possible questions, this is just more proof at what a horrible campaign they are running.

11. Palin's ideas for preconditions...
Get per diem pay.

Her witch priest must clean all evil spirits from the room.

Must not be held in a library or have any banned books in the room.

12. It looked like she didn't know the definition of the word
"preconditions." During the Couric interview everybody said she didn't know what the Bush doctrine was. By her looks and her answers I don't think she even knew what the word "doctrine" meant.
