Palin's SNL appearance may have moved the polls.
Yesterday I was wondering why Obama's support was strengthening. I thought it was just people taking sides. Since then, I heard that the WSJ/NBC poll shows that Palin's SNL appearance dragged down McCain's support. I guess people want their VP to be a little more serious and a little less mockable than Palin.

1. There is nothing wrong with having a sense of humor about yourself. The problem is
when a majority of people already have doubts about your ability to be commander in chief and you only reinforce the negative stereotypes about you (the dancing eskimos, etc.)

3. It was mentioned on KO last night.
And it makes some sense, because the polls have been moving since the weekend.

4. She participated in making herself a caricature.
By appearing on the show, she gave her blessing to SNL's mockery and even seemed to enjoy it; reinforcing that she isn't ready to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.

5. Chuckie T said last night that the worst thing she could do was go in SNL
because it made her even more of a caricature then ever before.

6. Palin's SNL appearance was the nail in her coffin. She basically agreed that she is a dumbass
by showing up on that show. She should have done it after the election, not before.

Having said that, I'm glad she did it cuz I had a good time laughing my ass off at her.

Thanks, Sarah!!

8. My guess is, it's more Powell than Palin.
But, I underestimated the power of SNL back in March and April, so, I'm probably wrong.

9. The problem is she didn't do anything and didn't say anything
except "live from NY it's Saturday night!"... She literally just stood there with Lorne Michaels, and she just sat there during the rap skit. That could have been a golden opportunity to have the country warm up to her but they have been so strict about where she goes, what she says (nothing outside of approved talking points) and how she looks, the GOP blew what was likely the last good opportunity to make up significant ground of the campaign. They did it to themselves.
