Is Pennsylvania McCain's Latest Stunt?
Ever since the "suspension of his campaign" and his threat to delay the debate, people have debated what McCain's next stunt will be.

Is Pennsylvania it?

McCain abruptly pulls out of nearly all the swing states (including ones where he's down by less than 10) and throws all his resources into s state he is losing by 15 points?

That John McCain -- such a maverick!

2. Yes. They're rehashing the "bitter" comment again (yawn) and
trying to slam Murtha's comments to try to drum up the racist vote.

4. "Murtha thinks you're all racists. Prove him right!"
Yeah, that's a great strategy.

9. Well, considering what McCain said today (basically saying he thinks they really are racists)

I doubt that's an angle they can go with. And if they're bringing up something that couldn't derail Obama during the primaries, I don't see how it will work now.

11. No early voting, no possible recount -- "steal" could be the plan
The gov of PA is dem, but isn't federal (repub) oversight also involved in all the states? Then there's the voting machines themselves -- who makes them and programs them? Not our crowd.

6. He should really go for broke: contest NY!
John McCain should campaign in NY like the living dead. If he can win it there, he'll win it everywhere!

10. Na... he's losing the vote in Utah. Put all the resources there instead.
I hear McSame's lead is not enough there.

win Pa. to offset three Red states he is losing that collectively have 21 EV's. I can't remember for sure which states they cited, but I know it was Col. & Ia. and one more. Pa has 21 EV's so that would bring him back to where he is now. He'd still lose, but not as badly.

I don't believe he has any chance in Pa. I grew up in Pa, and only moved in 1987 when I was in my 40's. Pa is hurting bad because of the Shrub policies, and although there are some hard core Pubs who will vote Pub not matter what, they are NOT the majority, and even some people who were pretty strong Pub are switching to Dem because they've lost their jobs, lost 1/'2 of their 401K's, and want change.

I just heard it was Co. NV. & NM. They apparently equal 21 EV's and McNuts is pulling out of all three.

12. I think he's still giving Iowa a shot.
Edited on Wed Oct-22-08 01:29 AM by FVZA_Colonel
But it's more or less as safe as any Kerry state at this point, so Pennsylvania seems to be his last shot (as he seems to believe.)

14. Even bitter, gun-toting, prayer-saying Pennsylvanians favor Obama. Too bad, McNuts!
