Watch the Saturday Night Live video of her, and turn the volume off. Pretend she's a democratic senator running as Barack Obama's VP candidate. Pretend that she went to NC State for her undergraduate work, and obtained a combined MBA/JD from a program at Duke before she went to work representing small businesses owned and operated by women. Pretend that she then was a successfull defense attorney representing a number of progressive causes, and even defended one in front of the Supreme Court (and won). Pretend that she then ran for and won the AG position in North Carolina, and then Governor before being appointed to the Senate, to fill out another senators term, and proceeded to win reelection.

Pretend she's progressive, liberal, pro-choice, pro-woman, pro-universal health care which she established in her state in her term as governor, etc, etc.

Pretend all that and watch her appearance on Saturday Night live (via Hulu or the NBC site, it's free) and tell me you think she's not an attractive woman.

What makes her ugly is not her looks. It's her positions and her background. Not anything physical.

She has a nice smile, and nice skin I think--it's hard to tell with the make up-- but I suspect it's nice. Pleasant, even features, she uses certain make up techniques to bring out her cheekbones and lips, but nearly hides her eyes behind make up and glasses. (Maybe she doesn't like her eyes as a feature, maybe the evil shines right through) She looks like she uses the beauty queen technique of dirty hair (yes they really do) to get it to hold a style and not fly away. In other words, like many women, she works hard at obtaining a certain "look"
