CNN talking about a "Colin Powell Bounce" for Obama....
This will dominate 2 or 3 news cycles, folks.

Palin on SNL? Will barely be mentioned tomorrow.

Joe the Plumber? Already an national joke.

The Powell endorsement is a HUGE game-changer.

Watch the tracking polls.

2. By the time the media gets this out of its system...
It will be Wednesday. With only about a dozen cycles left before the election. And let's face it, there's no such thing as a "game changer" after the final Saturday. So we're really talking about fewer than ten days for McCain to change the subject.

And the "other" investigation of Palin's malfeasance in Alaska is supposed to come out before the election. So that's going to be another bad day for them.

3. Actually,
Obama's infomercial will suck some of the air from the room, too. It's on Wednesday. Speculation about its content will begin on Tuesday, I'd guess. Reaction to the infomercial and spinning on both sides will take place on Thursday and Friday.

This means that McCain probably has between this upcoming Wednesday and the following Tuesday to get something, anything positive going. And he's not going to make-up enough polling terrain in that narrow window of time. :D

5. How do you know Powell won't be on the infomercial?
Do you honestly believe this will be a 1 event deal,
and that the Obama campaign will do nothing to
benefit from it?

and was kinda laughed at for it. :P

I wouldn't put it past Obama and Powell to do it if they think it's a winner.

8. Powell has stated he won't campaign for Obama
I seriously doubt he'd show up (other than as stock footage) in the infomercial.

7. Its important because it totally disrupts the "McCain is making a comeback" message
that he had hoped to begin riding this week.

Making a comeback when one of the most well-known republican figures has just trashed your campaign and your running mate is hard to do. Pitiful little Sarah definitely isn't going to want to talk to the press -- what is she supposed to do...claim to know more than Powell?
