The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows Barack Obama attracting 51% of the vote while John McCain earns 45%. This is the first update based entirely upon interviews conducted after the final Presidential debate and shows that the race continues to remain quite stable. Obama’s support has ranged from 50% to 52% every day for twenty-four straight days while McCain’s total has been between 44% and 46% during those days.

Tracking Poll results are released every day at 9:30 a.m. Eastern and a FREE daily e-mail update is available.

Prior to today, Obama had led by four or five points every day for the past week. The week before, the Democrat was up by five to eight points each day (see trends).

Obama is viewed favorably by 55%, McCain by 52%. Those figures include 40% with a Very Favorable opinion of Obama and 30% with a Very Unfavorable opinion of him. For McCain, the comparable numbers are 23% Very Favorable and 24% Very Unfavorable.

Conduct an honest poll, to the best of your ability, and let the numbers speak for themselves

9. And Yet... ZOGBY Shows McCain Gaining... 48-44!! Yes, I Know Zogby
seems to the right and I'm SICK that C-Span relies ONLY on Zogby. You can HEAR Zogby's bias even when he talks!

Can't believe Zogby has turned this way!!!

15. People need to stop crapping on Rasmussen polls...
Edited on Sun Oct-19-08 07:15 AM by nickn777
Scott Rasmussen is by far the VERY BEST, and probably most respected pollster in the country. Unlike Zogby, and some others, he doesn't flip methodologies from day to day in an attempt to grab headlines. Go back and do the research in 2004...look at the final Rasmussen numbers from every state poll and compare them to the acutal results. Within the MOE in EVERY battleground state. No other pollster was nearly this close in so many states.

He carefully researches and samples the demographics periodically, and weights consistently to match actual population/demographic data. This is why his poll has BARELY moved in over a month. And neither has this race. Obama is ahead by 4 -6 points nationally, and this is a great position to be in 2 weeks before the election.

16. These numbers are pretty good but I disagree on the "most respected pollster" comment.
For starters, he employs a "unique" robopoll method that some question. His weighting technique, with routinely updated party numbers, is to be admired.

Gallup is still the industry standard as far as commercial pollsters are concerned.

17. Very pleased to see Razz's #'s for Obama improve.
It is a respectable poll but at times it can move like molasses especially in Sept when every poll began showing Obama with a lead and they still had him two points behind.

18. RAS
The way things are going he has more credabilty than Gallup.Gallup Is now trying to put out 3
different daily tracking polls now In order to help make the race look close.

Over at 538 Nate has analyzed the popular vote at 5/6 lead for Obama which Is how RAS has been
for awhile.
