Genuine delight. I'm beginning to feel very tense about the next 2 weeks, and all the ugly nonsense that has started, and this was a nice spirit-lifter. Thanks for posting.

21. On one of these calls today, Obama bought Chinese food for a woman in need in Colorado
Edited on Sat Oct-18-08 06:49 PM by JPZenger
I just read today about a woman in Colorado Springs, Colorado. An Obama campaign worker came to her door to ask her who she was voting for. She said Obama. She then told the campaign worker about her troubles - about her difficulty affording food and about how her daughter the Marine had been to Iraq twice and might be forced to continue to be in the Marines involuntarily through stop loss rules. She talked about how her husband had died of Agent Orange, after the great difficulties dealing with the VA, and the trouble she's having trouble getting the VA to cover the medical costs she paid for him out of pocket. She told the worker how her son was out scrounging for scrap metal to earn enough money for food.

The campaign worker then called up a number, and it was Obama on the phone. She told him about his troubles.

A little while later, $40 of Chinese food came to the door. The delivery man did not speak English and could not explain where it came from. They called the manager and he said Obama had called them and put the order on his credit card.

(revised link, thanks)

This account did not come from the campaign office - it came directly from the woman's tenant, who regularly posts on that website.

25. What a heart-warming story!
These are the type of important stories that people need to know about. Not like McCain who invoked the story of "Joe the Plumber" that doesn't even exist and isn't real or true. Everything about McCain is fake! Obama is the real-deal -- he cares. He didn't help that family for the recognition, but to help those folks in the most immediate way that he could -- to make sure they had food to eat.

39. Looking at these pictures is the first time I've seen Obama as a Celebrity
People say it all the time, but in seeing this and then thinking, how would i react if he came to my town and i saw in walking downtown, I'd freak out a little like seeing a movie star, i guess it's just something about him. I can't imagine anyone acting like that if they saw McCain walking down their street.
