I know this seems to be a taboo subject but I think its on a lot of peoples minds.

Its been obvious to me for quite a while that the hate the McCain campaign is stirring up is for one reason and one reason only. This hateful rhetoric would have stopped weeks ago if it was simply a campaign point, not only did it not help their poll numbers it made them worse. What they witnessed when they started this was a response from their crowds that actually called for Obamas death and calling for his head. Did they stop? No, it continues even worse.

We all know there are A LOT of right wing nutjobs out there and McCain knows it to, yet they keep it going. Its pretty damn obvious why. I actually cannot believe the media acts like this is business as usual, it is not. I pray that I am wrong but to be honest I have not seen so much widespread open hate in this country in the 43 years I've been on this planet. Its really fucking sad that mankind has not evolved any further than it has.

1. Biden would probably ride the pity votes and the RAGE votes into the WH
So it's not a good idea. But then again, John McCain and his campaign wouldn't know a good idea if it danced naked in front of them.

5. Thats not taboo
Its fairly obvious to me. Right wing authoritarians (aka wingnuts) don't respond well to losing power. It doesn't have to be an attempt on their part to win the election, just an attempt to get revenge on Obama for being the figurehead of a series of elections (2006,08,10) that will put the wingnuts into minority status for 20 years.

6. At best, he doesn't care if it happens and isn't making any effort to prevent it.
And at worst you are correct and he's pushing the envelope.

8. he doesn't realize he would be demonized forever in history
as the bigot/racist who brought America to her knees by killing Hope.

I have no doubt this would be the most fatal mistake of mcKKKain's career/life and would make his POW days look like a spa. Palin would be so hated and despised she'd never be able to leave her igloo again.

20. That's exactly what I think . . .
There would be riots of historic proportion.
The destruction that ensued would make Katrina look like a summer shower.

10. The REAL McCain indeed. If that jackass has a shred of decency left
he'll throttle down and order Palin to as well. It is fucking ridiculous. You know if a Dem shouted comments about "those ones" needing to be eliminated, that would be the end of said Dem. The hypocrisy, lies, veiled threats, unveiled threats, and bullying is motivating us even harder to purge these hellbound pieces of rotting flesh back to whence they came.

12. pretty much what Rep Lewis was saying
not necessarily calling for it, but encouraging the atmosphere that, to use that oh-so-overworked expression - "emboldens the terrorists"

whackjobs with delusions of grandeur can get more pumped up to be a "hero" if they see and hear enough of this kind of vitriol. Assuming JE Ray was just a paid hitman, then Maddox, Wallace et al sure as hell enflamed whatever sick motivation he had.

And I am about 10,000% certain there would not be as much overt shit - people with dolls, and effigies, and shit - if they did not think in their own warped dungballs of minds that it was "politically correct" once again to come out of the closet. Mccain's fucking legacy. Palin too, but he gave her the national stage. And the whole cabal behind him. Too bad I don't believe in hell; I could wish them there.

19. This is exactly it.
I agree with you. McCain and Palin are encouraging the atmosphere for it. They almost make it vogue for people to shout out racial slurs against Obama. And because they both ignore it, people are seeing the GOP condone this type of behavior. As I mentioned before in another thread, this business is spilling not only into the work place, but in the neighborhoods and the schools.

And the MSM (with few exceptions) have fanned the flames of this type of thinking too.

McCain and Palin wants this unrest. And I believe that they both have considered that if they (and the GOP) can't have the Presidency, then nobody will. :(

13. Remember Dallas 1963
Just before JFK's assassination people were being given flyers on the streets with JFK's picture on them and "Wanted for Treason". Sound familiar?

And there are a WHOLE LOT MORE crazy/RW wackjobs now than in '63.

Obama better have the best damn Secret Service protection ever because if {insert name of preferred deity here} forbid something happens to Obama it would fall on the heads of not just McInsane and Mooselini but the Secret Service would be on the hook too.

15. It's not just Obama. It's also Ayers. He's inciting people to attack an
innocent man. A man who's living his life and doing what he can for his community and who's inspired hundreds of kids, he's a distinguished professor and he's also endangering this man's life. These men are not invincible they are human and he's creating an insidious roar that will reach a destructive and inflammatory situation.

16. I said at the start of the campaign season that if the Repigs
didn't succeed with "character assassination" (like they do 99.9% of the time) that they would become even more desperate. IF someone would do harm to Obama it probably would be a "lone nut" for once-given the terrible rhetoric and misguided passions of the wingnuts. I pray I'm wrong.

24. Nah, I don't think they're explicity doing that.
But I don't think they give a damn about the consequences of their tactics. They see this approach as their only path to victory, similar to what we saw earlier this year, and don't care about what state they'll leave the electorate after November 4th. It's win at any and all costs to the McCain campaign, country be damned.

Sadly, their tactics *will* create a new, even more lunatic fringe than we've seen before, and I do fear for Obama's safety.
