Is it just me, or is this an intense, emotional night for you all?
With so little time left till the end of this campaign and Republicans pulling their dirty tricks, RW scum out smearing in droves, racists, hate.

But this time out we have a Democratic Sec of State in Ohio, and what a patriot. Her appearance on Rachel's show had me in tears. On LKL Robert Kennedy, Jr. was amazing STANDING UP FOR THE CONSTITUTION up against Rep. Michelle McCarthy and kookoo Michael Reagan. Ed Schultz walks off FOX "news", just says Fuck It. I'm very emotional tonight . . . I know this sounds over the top, but I feel this deeply from what I've seen tonight and the state of this race, those lying soulless fuckers are kidney punching, scratching and clawing to keep their "precious", their power, America, out of We The People's hands. I hope and pray I can get through this with my sanity. When I see or hear that racist hatemonger McShame chose for VP I can't even put into words the disgust I feel, I can't listen to her another second, I just can't, I'll poke out my eardrums. I hope that's the feeling more and more undecideds are getting.

2. It's a particularly shitty night. These robocalls have me livid...we need a knockout punch...
I hope Barack has one big punch left he's saving for the final days of the campaign. Something devastating and irrefutable.

4. It was Michelle Bachmann, not McCarthy.
I saw her on Hardball earlier today, and promptly donated to her challenger's campaign. Apparently, a lot of people had the same idea and Rachel Maddow mentioned on her show tonight that her opponent-El Tinklenberg-raised 30K in 3 hours. :woohoo:

5. Yes, VERY....I've been on the phone all night, to Bachmann's offices,
to Pelosi, Hoyer, Boehner, writing LTTEs, contacting Twin Cities teevee stations, posting phone numbers on Facebook and encouraging my friends to do the same...call, fax, write, e-mail, whatever...
I am disgusted by the tactics being taken by the rePigliCons; I always am, but my GOD, just when you think they can't POSSIBLY sink any lower, they're in the abyss like, exponentially...

6. I really do think I'm about to snap.
I just want this to be over with. Think I might go out to the country to some little hotel somewhere the night of the election. I hope for the best, but the past has taught me to fear the worst, and I don't want to be near any major city the day of the election, or the day after.

8. It's pure
DESPERATION on the part of the republicans and McCain. This is the lowest possible scenario the they could come up with, and I wonder if the idiots McCain has hired, the same idiots that went after him in 2000, are really trying to help or they are trying to destroy McCain! It think that Palin's political career is over after they lose in November, and if McCain doesn't get out of the gutter, he is going to be toast also. The only "idiots" I can see buying into this kind of sick, gutter politics are the die hard right wing wackos! I even think that most "real" republicans are not going to like this kind of trash. They can fight all they want, the truth is out and America wants a change, and that change is NOT McCain!

9. I had this thought this morning:
Edited on Fri Oct-17-08 09:43 PM by goodgd_yall
I am so fortunate to have lived through and to being living now through two momentous times in modern American history. I'm jumping ahead of myself, but I'm figuring Obama will be our next president of the United States and I'm figuring I'm going to live to see the next 4-8 years. I believe we're heading into another turning point like that in the late 60s and early 70s (the other momentous time). The country is going to change for the better. It's going to be great! That is where my emotions are.

10. It's Not Just You
It's late in the game for these sonofabitches and they are pulling the old rovian Friday Night News Dump that the Bushhole campaigns were notorious for in order to capture the weekend news cycle. And we thought bushhole was nasty, these people are so desperate that they are pulling out all stops and doing everything short of putting on white robes and forming a lynch party to go hang that there n****r. These attacks are nothing more than hate-filled and racist and they fucking know it. It's the old republican code for "hey everyone he's a negro and you know you can't trust them people, they're not like us". Absolutely evil if you ask me! It's driving me nuts too, but I will remain positive. Fuck those un-american assholes

11. I am feeling incredibly upbeat today.
Maybe it's all the dance music I've been listening to this evening? Or maybe it's blueberry lager? Nah, started way before that. :-)

I think it's that every good person, every SMART person, every worth-a-shit person I know is not just gonna vote for Obama but is passionate as HELL about making this happen.

The cockroaches are coming out to the middle of the kitchen floor, and they keep getting caught in the lights. Bachmann, McCain, Palin, their crazy-ass supporters, you name it. Normal people -- as in the 90% of us who aren't like these haters at Palin rallies -- are seriously turned off by their shit.

15. It is definitely ugly out there.
Edited on Fri Oct-17-08 10:42 PM by political_Dem
But what gives me strength and resilience during this time is the fact that so many people can see through the BS that is being presented by the GOP and its adherents. In living color, people are able to witness such stupidity, comment on it instantly on the Internet, and react proactively.

(This did not happen during the time of McCarthyism. I doubt Bachmann will get far since so many viewers caught her schtick on television.)

This is a very educational time. Yes, I agree that the occurrences today do not make a person happy. But, I think of the current events as giving all of us a character defining moment. We have to rise to occasion to steer things toward a force of good.

Keep your head up.

16. And the media and it's precious horserace
One poll and, oh my God, McCain is making a comeback! Why can't the media just do it's damn job? I'm not one who buys into them wanting one candidate over the other, except for Faux "News", but really, the MSM should get that label as well. It's fake news in a sensational, ka-ching, one-up, GOTCHA! kind of way.

Anderson Cooper and his dramatic breathless delivery, but--but: "the Democrats do it, too" . . . and insane headcase Lou Dobbs :puke: :puke: :puke: The media is making me bonkers more almost more than the repugs. Everything is a lie or fake. Alice in Wonderland. I'm tired of crying, of being angry, I just want the nightmare to be over . . . I know all of us do. :grouphug:

17. I do too.

I'm tired of the anxiety and the tears myself. It angers me that people with ugly behavior and attitudes have trampled upon the good, sensitive and forthright in this country.

I believe that if Mr. Obama becomes our next President, things will be considerably better.

However, I still have this fear in the pit of my stomach that the anger (which is being stirred up by the GOP, McCain and Palin) is going to get worse. That is what makes me a little leery as I watch the latest events go down. :(

But I hope that there will be enough wise people to steer this nation toward a better path. That's what I've got to keep my hopes on no matter how bad it gets. And society, when it does let thoughtful and pragmatic people lead them, always bounces back.

18. i'm exhausted from this election...
I know we are all spent from the roller coaster and terrified that the outcome won't be what we hope it will be. It's a very intense time. I'm going to get an early night and hope to feel up to volunteering this weekend. We have to keep going somehow...

20. It is very emotional this week. I adore Brunner!!!
Thank God for her in Ohio.

This has been a trying week and it's not going to end soon. We have the past several weeks of McPalin antics, where they are inciting their audience to violence. We have heard of young girls, young adults, and we've seen the violence and antics of these supporters against Obama and his supporters. Then you have Bachmann and her reawakening of McCarthyism, added to what she said in late September where she actually stated that Blacks and Clinton were the sole reasons for the economic crisis. Then you have, McCain publicly supporting Palin and Palin continuing in what she's doing. Then you have ACORN and how the Repubs are slapping Obama in the face with that, accusing all of this as election fraud and luckily in Ohio we have 200,000 voters saved. But this is going on in EVERY state and including voters who have been purged.

This is unacceptable and we have to be organized in order to abolish these actions.

I couldn't watch anything without getting angry earlier. Just before I left the house for my son's football game that Michelle Bachman bitch was on and she made me actually sick. I can hardly drive because I notice campaign signs and how many there are instead of paying attention to the road! I stare at everybody I see and wonder if they are going to vote for Barack or if they are right wing racist assholes. My husband thinks I'm "too emotionally involved" in the campaign and either way we have to "keep on living". I cannot wait for this election to be over so the real work of cleaning up America can begin. These republicans are thieves, liars, racists, divisive criminals!

23. Yes, but this is an amazing night - ABSOLOUTELY AMAZING!!!
Look at what we've done this year - and are on the verge of making a reality. Beyond that, just take a minute and see what we and our counterparts at other sites are doing after being spurred on by Michelle McCarthy Bachmann. It brings a tear to my eye to think about it!

I'm just so proud of whats happened tonight. It shows we aren't complacent and I guarantee this is going to get noticed throughout the nation and lead to some amazing things in this country!!!!

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to write your thoughts and to those who have donated. Some had to scrape and scrounge but they made it happen. Let's continue this thing through Election Day!!!
