Tonight, presidential candidates Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) attend the 63rd Annual Al Smith Dinner. The event honors the NY governor and first Roman Catholic to run for president in a major party. Leading politicians have participated since the dinner's inception in 1945.
