1. I don't think he was a plant, but just someone who wanted to get in
Obama's face then McCain went with it.

There is so much crap coming out about him now -- I bet he wishes he never opened his mouth. He was probably telling his friends how he stood up to Obama, and now look!

2. Nah, I doubt he was a plant. If he was they would have had a better script for him to follow.
The guys is just making a fool of himself. The reason why the media is pushing him is because that's all they have. and it's sensational enough to get people to tune it.

3. The media also seems to be reporting some things he'd probably rather keep quiet.
His tax problems, his not actually being a plumber, etc.

5. What the MSM is reporting now
Edited on Thu Oct-16-08 05:13 PM by Stagecoach
Is stuff that's working against Joe the Plumber (like being behind on taxes).....With that, I look for the McCain campaign (& Fox, for that matter) to drop the Joe the Plumber bit rather quickly.

I'm Not A Plumber, But I Play One On TV

When Barack Obama and Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (aka Joe The Plumber) met recently in Ohio, the two got to talking about small businesses. Wurzelbacher told the senator he's a "plumber" and he's looking to buy a company. Obama asked how long he'd been a plumber. "Fifteen years," Wurzelbacher replied.

Oh, really?

Wurzelbacher registered as an apprentice with the Ohio State Apprenticeship Council in November 2003, according to Dennis Evans, spokesman with the Department of Job and Family Services. Records show his training, which was sponsored by A & W Newell Co. of Toledo, should have been wrapped last year.

"We don't have a record of completion," Evans said. "All we know is that he registered in the program and has gone through to the point where we should have record of completion, but we don't."

And that's not the only record that's missing from Wurzelbacher's file. He doesn't have a plumbing license required by the city of Toledo to practice, according to a staffer with the Toledo Division of Building Inspection. Wurzelbacher, who now works for Newell Plumbing & Heating Co., said the owner, Al Newell, has a plumbing license and that "because he works for someone else, he doesn't need a license."

But even that's not true, according to the Toledo Division of Building Inspection. Wurzelbacher can't legally do plumbing work without a license, regardless of his boss's certification.

A staff person with the Toledo Division of Building Inspection told On Call this afternoon that her division will contact Wurzelbacher to notify him that he can't work without a license.

15. my God, the guy lied about everything! Where do they find these people?
"15 years" as a plumber? Really? No. Looking to buy a business? Really? Considering he doesn't make too much money, how was he thinking of buying a plumbing biz? Especially as an unlicensed plumber that has long since run out his "apprentice" time?

13. Yesterday, the pundits kept saying that there will be one
one more turnaround before the election for McCain. They are manufacturing news. It didn't quite work out they way they thought it would and now are trying to turn that pig's ear into a purse.

14. I think it's starting to backfire on McCain and "Joe".
Joe's past and associations are being scrutinized, and many people in focus groups hate "Joe the Plumber".

Thus, it's actually a big boner of a move yet again for McCain.

16. Maybe on cable they are, but the networks
that is the 2 I watched tonight debunked the whole thing.

ABC and CBS both did a fact check debunking that "Joe" would pay more taxes or be fined for health coverage.

And then both newscasts got personal: they both exposed Joe for not making no way near that amount of money (200K), that he does not have a plumbing license and he has a tax lien on him.

Besides Screechin' Sara, I don't think we'll hear much more of this guy after the weekend....THANK GOD!
