Joe the unlicensed and untrained plumber's future career plans.
So,when does he make this $250,000? The local plumber's union endorses Obama, by the way.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/10/16/politics/2008debates/main4526503.shtml

On Thursday, he revealed to the media assembled outside his home that he wasn't a licensed plumber. He said he works for a small plumbing company that does residential work. Because he works for someone else, he doesn't need a license, he said.

But the county Wurzelbacher and his employer live in, Lucas County, requires plumbers to have licenses. Neither Wurzelbacher nor his employer are licensed there, said Cheryl Schimming of Lucas County Building Regulations, which handles plumber licenses in parts of the county outside Toledo.

Wurzelbacher, 34, also said he doesn't have a good plan put together on how he would buy Newell Plumbing and Heating in nearby Toledo.

He said the business consists of owner Al Newell and him. Wurzelbacher said he's worked there for six years and that the two have talked about his taking it over at some point.

"There's a lot I've got to learn," he said.

5. plumbers are licensed by the state, not the county in which
the potential plumber lives. According to the State of Ohio, experience and a trade school along with letters from previous employers will get you a plumbing job, regardless of your county of residence. I looked it up, so can you.

8. "Joe" doesn't have a state license either.

snip;
According to Lucas County Building Inspection records, A. W. Newell Corp. does maintain a state plumbing license, and one with the City of Toledo, but would not be allowed to work in Lucas County outside of Toledo without a county license.

snip:
Mr. Wurzelbacher said he works under Al Newell’s license, but according to Ohio building regulations, he must maintain his own license to do plumbing work.

He is also not registered to operate as a plumber in Ohio, which means he’s not a plumber.

9. You might have missed the point.
The state licenses people, I think the county can require they be licensed where the state may not.

HOLLAND, Ohio - Joe the Plumber said Thursday he doesn't have a license and doesn't need one. Joe Wurzelbacher, better known as Joe the Plumber, the nickname Republican John McCain bestowed on him during Wednesday's presidential debate, said he works for a small plumbing company that does residential work.

Wurzelbacher, who voted in the Republican primary and indicated he backed McCain, was cited by the GOP presidential candidate as an example of someone who wants to buy a plumbing business but would be hurt by Democrat Barack Obama's tax plans. Wurzelbacher said he was surprised that his name was mentioned so many other times.

-snip-

Wurzelbacher, 34, said he doesn't have a good plan put together on how he would buy Newell Plumbing and Heating in nearby Toledo.

He said the business consists of owner Al Newell and him. Wurzelbacher said he's worked there for six years and that the two have talked about his taking it over at some point.

"There's a lot I've got to learn," he said.

-snip-

As he leaned against the Dodge Durango SUV parked in his driveway Thursday morning, Wurzelbacher indicated to reporters who crowded around that he was a conservative, a fan of the military and McCain. He said meeting McCain would be an honor but said he hadn't been contacted by the Republican campaign.

-snip-

"I just hope I'm not making too much of a fool of myself," he added.

Looks like this guy just got his boss in a lot of trouble. I wonder if they'll re-inspect all these unlicensed jobs they did?

http://www.contractors-license.org/oh/Ohio.html

Counties and municipalities have the right to require a license issued by them in order to work within their political subdivisions, in addition to having a mandated state license.

I live in Ohio, and if you don't have a license (contractor, electrician, plumber, etc) issued from the county and city I live in your work will not pass inspection here.

Ever.

13. I hope he doesn't have too much invested in his future plans
I suspect there are a lot of potential customers that might simply forgo Joe's unlicsened company for a competent plumber who at least keeps his big mouth shut. He also made some comments about not wanting to share his money with others. To that I say: He could make a whole lot less than $40,000 a year if people are unwilling to share their money with him.

14. Typical of the type of person who votes against their own interests.
Joe the Plumber hopes one day to make $250,000 in profit, at which point Obama's tax breaks will no longer help him. At this time, he actually would benefit quite a bit from Obama's tax plan. However, reality is not where Joe the Plumber lives. He lives in the fantasy world in which he is one of the wealthy and privileged.

To keep the fantasy afloat, he votes for Republicans, even though they steal his money.

17. It's mass hysteria. The media did this, I think. They brainwashed all these people
into thinking that one day, just around the corner, they will be one of the elite. To keep this fantasy going, all those people vote as if they were already part of the elite.

This explains Free Republic.
