McCain Knows

In watching the replay it is clear that he starts to wander the second half and that has been noted by all the commentators. When you look at the closing argument it is quite surprising because he is mashing this up one side and down the other. He is fumbling for his words and gets lost in thought.

The closing statement is the part that they have down cold. McCain's mind is wandering as he says it. Most of us probably have had that experience where we are talking about something but our mind is wandering along another track. McCain was aware that the campaign was over and that he has no chance to win the GE. While giving the final statement he was making a final accounting of the night and he knew that it was a game confirmer, not a game changer.
