Do the Democrats ignore the "uninterested" voter?
Let's face it, a large numbers of voters could not care less about politics. They don't read the newspaper, they don't watch the news, and at most they watched only a few minutes of either Convention. This important demographic group responds to sounds and slogans, but especially to dirt. "Dirt" is the human drama of the story. If the Democrats want get uninterested voters to vote Democrat, it needs to entertain them with dirt and scandals about the Republicans. There is almost no other way to reach this demographic group.

2. fear and safety are the issues
We have to undermine his preceived strength

Please print and distribute the image above. Put them on car windows. Hand them out on street corners. We don't need TV buys to get some attention on this issue. We all are potential disseminators of printed media. We do not need a newspapers permission or lots of money for TV commercials. We need viral grass roots marketing. We need to create a buzz. If we create a buzz with massive distribution of printed ads we will get media coverage. If these start miraculously appearing and no one knows where they are coming from it will start to get media attention. now someone create a Condi ad and an Ashcroft.

INCOMPETENCE is key

3. They're a group who doesn't pay attention

From my perspective, jobs and health care are far more important, but a lot of people just aren't interested in thinking about the real problems. A friend of mine is leaning towards Bush because all she knows is she's afraid of terrorism. If you ask her what else she likes about Republicans, she's liable to credit them with stands they do not hold (including support for national health care) because she has ZERO interest in politics. There are a lot of people like that!

4. I have several friends that are 'uninterested'.
One has admitted that she goes out of her way not to be informed b/c it would be too upsetting to actually understand what is going on in the world and she is too busy to deal with it. Sigh. She graduated from an ivy league school, BTW. She is pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, etc, but has a tendency to vote repug b/c she doesn't pay attention, but most of her family votes pug. I have started sending her factoids every day or so. I cut and past a few lines from news story into an email and send it to her with a link to the article. Just like LBN. Hoping to make a dent in her consciousness, get some truth in there.

But I think you may be right. These people vote on impressions, not facts. I guess you get the government you deserve.

5. You can lead a horse to water.. If they are not intrested now - they never
will be, IDIOTS. You are better off focusing and convicing people that actually take the time to vote and give a rats ass about the country.
