Looking at 2004 electoral maps can be a depressing sight.
http://www.electoral-vote.com/evp2004/Pres/Maps/Oct15.html

There's a disturbing amount of red south of Maryland, ditto to the NW of Texas. Good to see that Kerry has an edge in Nevada, but--Wisconsin and New Jersey? We're in trouble in New Jersey?! And why is there so much dark red and so little solid blue, especially on the Pacific Coast and in New England?

Then of course, you remember that Kerry's campaign hustled to hold the parts of the country he had--quite heroically, in fact--and in the end, we made up a LOT of ground. Still, we just couldn't pull out that final single state victory that could have edged out the GOP. The West coast, the Great Lakes (partially), the Northeast, and Hawaii: that was the final result, while the rest remained Bush country. Ugh.

OK, after you've been staring at that map for awhile, switch back to today:

Aaaaaah. Sweet, sweet blue.

3. Well, they don't have the money or the resources to steal it this year.
Nobody does. McCain could turn the tide in 4 or 5 states and still lose.

7. Currently, 10 states that went red in 2004 are going blue...
There is no conceivable amount of money or resources (and possibly even corruption) that can alter that.

9. We Are Ahead, But It is Still Close Enough to Steal With Such a Complicit Media
The MSM is hyping up the "Bradley Effect" and saying that it will result in a 6% red shift.

6% in every swing state brings them just over 270. :grr:

That is how many votes they intend to steal.

They have begun the biggest voter purge ever.
They still own the voting machines.
They control the courts even more than in 2004.

We need to be just a bit further ahead to prevent them from stealing it.

5. I did the same thing the other day
And I was adamantly optimistic 4 years ago this month. We WERE going to win it. Did canvassing for Kerry up in Wisconsin and that turned barely blue for the election. Sigh.

So glad I didn't know then I had to wait 4 more years. I don't think I could stand it this time if we didn't take the country back. Ok, I won't go there...

8. As a New Jerseyan, the poll that pushed NJ to "toss up"
was inconsistent with other polls and not what people thought who were canvassing.

I agree otherwise that 2008 is a MUCH better year for Democrats - 2004 were have been a major upset - and almost was.

10. ND and WV will stay red (barely)
That will reduce his EV count to 349. Still a good win.
