October Surprise: Cheney croaks?
Edited on Wed Oct-15-08 10:46 AM by npincus
OK, well it wasn't like I was wishing it to happen.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081015/ap_on_go_pr_wh/cheney

WASHINGTON - Vice President Dick Cheney experienced an abnormal heart beat Wednesday morning, went to the White House physician and scheduled a hospital visit to "restore his normal rhythm."

For the 67-year-old Cheney, who canceled a campaign event he was to attend later Wednesday in Illinois, it will be the second time in less than a year that he will have the cardiological procedure.

The vice president's office said that after experiencing a problem, Cheney saw the White House physician. It was discovered there that he was experiencing a recurrence of atrial fibrillation, an abnormal rhythm involving the upper chambers of the heart, said Megan Mitchell, a Cheney spokeswoman.

As a result, Cheney was scheduled to go to George Washington University Hospital in the afternoon for an outpatient procedure — an electrical shock — to restore his normal rhythm, Mitchell said. Cheney was remaining at the White House until time for the procedure, and participated in regular morning briefings with President Bush among other duties.

6. I have thoughts on this but I'm also a Christian-type. So I shall simply say no, not yet...
I'd love to see him on trial for war crimes and found guilty.

Then, he can die.

7. Was thinking the same thing. No sympathy for the devil!

Please allow me to introduce myself
Im a man of wealth and taste
Ive been around for a long, long year
Stole many a mans soul and faith
And I was round when jesus christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game
I stuck around st. petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain
I rode a tank
Held a generals rank
When the blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
Ah, whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made
I shouted out,
Who killed the kennedys?
When after all
It was you and me
Let me please introduce myself
Im a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reached bombay
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But whats confusing you
Is just the nature of my game
Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me lucifer
cause Im in need of some restraint
So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or Ill lay your soul to waste, um yeah
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, um yeah
But whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, um mean it, get down
Woo, who
Oh yeah, get on down
Oh yeah
Oh yeah!
Tell me baby, whats my name
Tell me honey, can ya guess my name
Tell me baby, whats my name
I tell you one time, youre to blame
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Oh, yeah
Whats me name
Tell me, baby, whats my name
Tell me, sweetie, whats my name
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Oh, yeah

21. They'd have to get him approved in the Senate
It's not likely that it would happen, although George would cry and stamp his feet about National Security concerns with Pelosi as DeFacto veep.

22. and the House
the 25th amendment is odd in that it requires approval of both chambers.

Best case, Bush will appoint a caretaker VP who will be responsible for absolutely nothing. Worst case, he appoints Palin (yeah, good luck getting approval on that) or someone like that who'll take a very activist role. Whatever the case, it will take this Congress until after the election to hold hearings and votes, and the new Congress takes over in early January so we're effectively looking at less than 2 months.

16. This would bring more attention to the problem of McCain's health as well.
I predict that if Cheney dies, they try to cover it up until after the election.

How long was Andropov dead before they admitted it?

23. I have always been curious as to how mr. cheney could have...
so much coronary trouble, since one could only assume he would have to possess a heart in order to have trouble with one.

I am a firm believer that the psyche controls much of our health woes, that being the case, it is no surprise that mr. cheney's heart is very diseased indeed.

It's really gratifying to see that fate has decided to make Cheney suffer.

It's all good. His next life as a deer tick or a maggot will wait.
